  • my mother use to sing this song, she played the guitar and she sung great, she could of made a living as a performer. this brings back many memories ,thanks for the post

  • I know Johnny & Jack came out with this first but this is the best rendition. Love Jim & Jesse.

  • This is true country bluegrass music! The music nowadays is NOT country, no matter what anyone says.

  • Just great music great to hear..

  • Super nice people, and unbelievably talented.

Jesse wrote the book on bluegrass mandolin, and the group is a national treasure.

  • Just Fantastic

  • That, ladies and gentlemen, is music!

  • natural vocalist list

all these tie for first in my book.

    Lester Flatt

    Jim McReynolds

Carter Stanley. if all three of them was on at once.

too bad all of them have went on.

    Good Lord likes good singing.

  • This is great just great 5*******.the best..

  • Theser boys are the greatest , sincere band and possibly the last!

  • Nice. Johnnie and Jack recorded this too. I'm not sure who did first but it's a good'n'. Jessie's famous cross-picking mandolin in the intro. Great channel.

  • Nobody can hold a candle to Jesse for playing mandolin.

  • A Little Red Bow Girl Salute to my Bluegrass heroes: Jim and Jesse!!!!! :)

  • This is real true pure country music! I was raised on it and I love it! Thanks for sharing this!

  • is,nt this great ? i really love bluegrass.

  • it looks like someone is trying real hard to be embarrassed of tjeir heritage

  • They were simply brilliant at what they did

  • you said it great just the best..

  • The greatest mandolin kick-off to a song there ever was!

  • beboobeboo has no clue what he's talking about. J&J are awesome and besides this clip is from 1976..... they were cool then and this music is absolutely classic. Thanks for sharing

  • I love them. I wish people would sing like them more.

  • In 1976 that was supposed to be a cool shirt.

    ;-)

(and aside from J&J, the whole band is wearing matching outfits... including that shirt)

  • ... and after they bought the instruments, all the band could afford was two pretty nice blue suit coats and one big beige and red patterned tablecloth...

I just think it's funny how Jim and Jesse don't look silly in any of the videos but the backup guys just look so ridiculous.

    Awesome music btw. ;D

  • Garland Shuping on banjo and Joe Meadows plays fiddle.

  • who is singing in center?

  • I cheated--I didn't know either. Jim and Jesse's web sight list (and pic) Daniel Grindstaff as Banjo player...this video is from a ways back--but I think the banjo player is the same? "The Virginia Boys" have changed thru the years..but I think this is the same guy.--Either way--he fills in real good!

  • It's Jesse's son Keith McReynolds.

Unfortunately Keith had multiple sclerosis, Jesse and his wife lost him on Feb 2, 2000. He was only 44 years old.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this lovely song.Jim and Jesse are GREAT.5*****.

  • this song rocks! the best version of this song!

  • I love this song!!!!!

  • awsome love it

  • These guys were the greatest. Smokin' mandolin intro by Jesse.

  • the sound is sweet...saw them on american music shop years ago...right there with the louvins...quality video ...thanks
