This reminds me of being a kid back home in Buffalo. Some nights I would hear this from my bedroom, it meant Dad had fallen asleep, it also meant that usually one of us in the house would have to get up and turn it off before the annoying monitone beep started. Ahh, memories...

When did WNED ditch that "17" logo, anyway?

I believe WNED ditched the "17" logo in late 1999/early 2000. I know for sure by the fall 2000 they were using the the gradient circle logo with WNED in the middle.

WNEQ-TV kept the "23" logo until they signed off at the end of January 2001.
