  • Thanks

  • Sister. you have the Truth. May the Lord continue to keep you in The Truth.

  • God's holy ones, will shout for joy.And happiness is essential so with out happiness

there is no holiness with out holiness there is no Joy or happiness I think God would want us too be all of them holly happy Joy" Joy":) love Smile

  • Hello. For most of my life I thought I was a Christian and knew the scriptures well. Then God broke me, taught me about sanctivication and holiness. I was born again a few years ago. God desires love, and the hallmark of love is obedience. Wonderful message. It is good to know there are other Christians out there teaching a message of obedience in Christ. Well done.

  • To meditate in God's word, does at times creates conflict with ourselves concerning the things of a worldly desires verses a spiritual one. We must have constant regard to the word of God, as the rule of our actions, and have it in our thoughts night and day. Now God doesn’t want to punish us like some pagan deity nor does he want us to be miserable in our walk. When God offers you a blessing then you should take it. It is hard enough as it is out there. And the enemy is far and wide.

  • A portion of this video inspired a portion of my second manuscript involving a downs syndrome girl using her bleeding hands to close off the far-portals of hell's armies, and even though she was in pain, she was in joy because it was the Lord's strength she used to close them.

  • Hahahahahahahaha! What BIBLE YOU READING FROM?!?!?!?!?! JESUS DIED SO YOU COULD BE HAPPY AND FREE! WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPY! WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN! Ma'am, I think you need to get your heart straight with God instead of listening to the voices in your head, cause he is the only-ONLY one that can make you feel happy. Nothing here on this planet has made me more happy than the Word of God. God Bless ma'am and have a, happy time! ^_^

  • I realize that at the grand old age of 13 you think you know everthing, but that is decidedly untrue. God does not care about your happiness at all. You will not find this once in the Bible. Sometimes the Beatitudes are translated from "Blessed are.." to "Happy are..." but if you pay attention, it's the poor in spirit, those who mourn, those who are downtrodden. Get the picture? This is called sanctification. You are sorely misled about what God desires for you: OBEDIANCE not HAPPINESS.

  • Hahaha! NO! He does not want OBEDIENCE! He wants LOVERS someone who will stay true to him, like a wife. Are you happy as a wife? If you are, then quit thinking YOU know the Bible. MmK? You can't know ALL of it, so get off it lady.

  • If you don't OBEY you do not LOVE. Chirsts words: John 14:15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command." Go ahead and tell Jesus He is wrong. If you even try you are a heretic. Good luck with that.

  • Hi VioletKitty411,

This is an awesome observation! I wish I had learned this a long time ago....

  • I am come that that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10. If you read further through the chapter you wont find a promise of a gold rolex or rolls royce as some well known televangelists would have you believe but in verse 28 you will find... And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish. Now thats abundant! Did Paul have an abundant life? Yep... An abundance of beatings, shipwreck, persecution and death. For Christs name. But oh the reward!

  • Great points - Im glad you shared this one - I think I mustve missed it - GBU

  • o gosh you are so right! i have been battling with me trying to be happy instead of listening to what God wants me to do and then hoping that he will bless me with my hearts desire,, this is so hard to do though let go of my desire give it to God and know what i am to do.

this i need to work on!

    great message!

  • Well, I won't lie. I do wish for you for you to be happy, however, that doesn't mean through means of money, or possessions, or other false idols that will only satisfy through temporary highs, but a happiness and love through the strength of Christ and our Heavenly Father, that is where true happiness lies. If we live lost, darkness is all we'll find. To have a heart of stone caused by worldly highs & sinful flesh to be transformed into something worthy! Amen!

    God bless,peace&love!

    Christian

  • Amen. There's a difference between contentment and happiness. I may be in human misery, but content in my Lord, because I am trusting the Sovereign.

John Baptist (who Jesus said was the greatest man, other than Himself) had a pretty "unhappy" life, as far as the material/carnal assessment!

Praise God for the everlasting flow of living water... how could we return to the broken cisterns!?

  • i would have to say you deserve happiness, dont be so hard on your self .

  • This is so timely! People ask me this all the time since I am standing for my marriage. Please pray as today is our 13th anniversary and I have not seen my husband Ed since 2001.

YHWH has given me so many wonderful opportunities and ways to bless others which I am eternally grateful for.

    PRAISE YAH, forever.

I am happy, content and HOLY in Him.

  • Looking for His will Causes us to be God centered, God Minded and then thats the time when He gives us Godly gifts , which are the desires of our heart because they are of His heart.

  • Very good video. I guess it's sort of like wanting desert all the time, rather than dinner. It works for awhile, but....

  • Too often people make the mistake of believing that, the temporal things attained in this world, somehow equates to true success or happiness. They couldn't be further from the truth in that, it is godliness with contentment, that is great gain. True joy for the believer, is to be in peace, and harmony with our Creator. The real blessings are found in being content, by surrendering to His will.

  • Very true!!!

  • Of course G-d doesn't think Happiness is at the top of his list, just look at the Jews :)

    Love And Peace

  • I'm happy living for God. Blessed also can mean happy too.

  • Been out for awhile, so I'm late on this one.

Good video. I like your simple explanation.

Happiness is not the ultimate goal of anything. I think many people make themselves miserable trying to be happy.

  • I just subbed to you. This is a great video. Fav'd! 5'ed!

  • I often miss blessings because of my personal quest for happiness.

  • Sometimes, what we "need" is also what we "want." God will give us hat we want if it is in alignment with the holiness he desires for us.

  • I do not really belive in God, nor I would care if God actually exists or not, yet I can say honestly your perception of religion and christianity is one of the most coherent Ive heard. Kudos to you, my friend.

  • Thank you, I try to keep it simple. I hope you continue to listen :-)

  • You do a very good job, not letting a religious denominational view ever get in the way of true discipleship. Good job, sis!

  • Amen !

Its not about self-fulfillment, its about self-denial. _John MacArthur

  • Violetkitty points out some of the flaws that I have: I am in oursuit of a better job, more money, and things so often that I miss blessings.

Yet... if I had a better job and more money, I'd be able to give more to charity, I'd be less stressed overall and would parent better, and maybe I could pursue preaching (which I feel is a calling from God). So, are my desires so bad? I desire for good reasons...

  • We are commanded to be content... as Paul was content in EVERY circumstance. Even in prison. Even as he was "being poured out as a drink offering"... a reference to being deprived of his HEAD in 2 Timothy.

Excellent points in your video. Our contentment is a choice.

Our blessings come not necessarily in this life, but in the life to come.

  • Snap! That was a powerful reminder, Amen!

  • Very interesting, VK, and very true! I've always been suspicious of the 'Name It And Claim It' doctrine - it seems contrary to Hebrews 12:6. However, we have to balance this against the fact that He is a loving Father, so wouldn't want us to be miserable all the time!

  • you really inspired me

  • Amen. thank you very much for this message.

  • very good insight; God bless you!

  • I think there is a Biblical middle ground on this topic. I believe God wants us to be "happy" due to our relationship to Him and His holiness. There are many passages on this: Prov. 16:20, Ps. 144:15, Ps. 146:5.

  • I think that happiness is your body's way of telling you that you are doing something right-- at least as far as your subconscious mind and instincts are concerned. Just like pain is your bodies way of telling you that you are doing something wrong (as far as your instincts are concerned.

Example: lifting weights hurts at first and is uncomfortable just like running. However the "pain" your body perceives makes you so much more powerful and your conscious mind knows what your sub-c cannot know.

  • Having sexual intercourse with a partner is pleasant because it satiates a fundamental human instinct (that of procreation) and in doing so pleases your subconscious, instinctive brain. However, fornication is sinful and not something meant to be done outside of wedlock. Our conscious mind knows this while our subconscious cannot.

It appears to me that subconscious "happiness" chemical reactions are dictated by ther primitive brain while conscious "joy" are dictated by our conscious happiness.

  • tl;dr we just need to be good Christians and make a conscious effort to follow the path which God and Christ have laid out for us. This may preclude having a good amount of "emotional intelligence" and the willpower to live consciously after God's will rather than our own. Happiness and "Holiness" as it has been implied in this video are not necessarily mutually exclusive (I think) and can co-exisst-- however I agree with your point that happiness is unimportant in comparison wit righteousness.

  • Isnt instinct also a creation of God? Why would he give us the fruit and tell us its forbiden?

  • Great video. Jesus actually said we should weep and lament for the spiritual state of things. He didnt tell us to accept him, he told us to follow him, deny ourselves and pick up our cross. Amen.

  • I totally agree. He also doesn't promise He'll fix everything, but He's there. And that's enough. I never understood that false doctrine but I hear it all the time.

  • I love you VK for sharing your heart. I agree with the majority of this video, but I do have a qualm with its major precept. Of course "happiness" takes a back seat to holiness in the Christian life. But I would like to think that happiness is a direct offshoot of living a holy life. My grandmother who was one of the most holy people I've ever known and she was happy- maybe I don't understand your definition of "joyous" and "happy" - I think they are just words. I don't want to b a depressive

  • I won't presume to speak for VK, but happiness is more of a circumstantial state whereas joy is unaffected by circumstances. Think of Paul being imprisoned. I doubt that he was 'happy' to be in chains, but even so, he had JOY in the midst of his circumstances, because he was in the Lord. Or think of Stephen when he was being stoned to death. I don't think he was 'happy' to have rocks pelted at him, but he found JOY when he looked up & saw the Christ standing to receive him! See the difference?

  • Of course I see the difference. I wrote you a private message on the matter as I have never disagreed with VK and am scared of her slapping my upside the head, And plus Pittsburgh just won the Super Bowl and I'm rathre a big fan of Kurt Warner. Take care fatdanios and have joy but don't be happy!

  • YEI-YAH! STEELERS!

  • to all

  • the Q you ask at 1:54 in nothing but please doo yer best at love.

  • Hey VK I have this problem with a friend from school who says that he supports Palestine. Is it okay if I ad you as a friend and talk to you on there or no? I can't talk about all of the details here of course, it's intense!

  • Please send an invite, thanks for letting me know.

  • This is 100% true!! :-) GREAT question:-) I like the quote ' If you do what you CAN do, God will do what you can't'. I don't know if that relates but i like it anyhow..haha

  • Very well said VK!!! VERY well said!

  • I believe God does want us to be happy, but happy in Him and in the Christian life. Once we accept Christ and realize the happiness w/in God, then we are happy, and that is what He wants for us to be happy!

  • Amen! I couldn't agree more. He wants us to be happy but not happy in our own doing. HIS happiness and HIS Joy flowing through us as we live in obedience to HIM. There is no justification to self -seeking.

  • It's unfortunate that we now live in a generation where ppl think, "If it feels good do it" Happiness or peace comes when your desires and thoughts match your actions. Innately we know what is right or wrong. I find joy when I live in the spirit, I have only frustration when I get caught up in the flesh.

Peace Love and Joy to you VK.

  • Very True, Great Message!

  • Wanting a thing is not a good enough reason to HAVE it?

    Imagine that!

  • I don't see how anyone could presume to think they are "holy". Jesus supposedly died for our sins? Meaning, it was/is inevitable that we, imperfect humans, will sin, therefore can never be holy. However, because Jesus sacrificed, our sins will be forgiven. I believe that living your life modestly, treating others kindly, and contributing to the greater good of humanity, for the people of THIS WORLD, is what we humans should strive for. I also believe if there is a God, he loves homosexuals, too.

  • Well lemme stop you there...

God's a good fella. I have no beef with God. God and I are two peas in a pod and all that stereotypical farming simile jazz. But I don't think He cares about what I can't do... I really think he cares about what I CAN do... for other people. Shouldn't the entire kit and caboodle be about how you treat other people? I don't think you should go to Heaven if you stayed a virgin your whole life, but let a homosexual child die because he's not pure.

  • I don't think theres much of a difference between happiness and joy. But I do think this, If more christians saught holiness/ happiness for themselves, and not so much for other people. If they tried to influence people more with themselves being an example and not pointing out the 'flaws' or 'shortcomings' of others I'd have less of a problem with the religion.

  • Abolutely, a hard truth to digest at the first, but I do come into agreement with you on this. Besides, I am reminded of this:

"Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness" James 4:9

    Also:

"The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise" Psalm 51:17

Jah bless you, and continue to keep you safe from the harm of the unmentionable sad fella from overseas.

    Love in Y'Shua

  • I believe God does indeed want us to be happy or joyful in all things; however, not in particular things. Check out the Beattitudes which could be considered as "Beatus (Happy) are those.." The difference is not so much in the "happenings" but in the mood or direction of one soul (not a dichtomy of body / spirit).

It is when you are aligned body / mind (soul) with the will of the Father in Heaven will you ever achieve that true happiness or joy that is irrelevant of events.

  • Bowulf:

I love how you described this! Amen, as I quote you:

"....true happiness or joy that is irrelevant of events." INDEED! YHWH bless you :)

  • Another thing is we confuse in this world, we think its here to entertain us.

  • Wait . . . It's not??

    ;)

  • Love ya

  • Human beings will never be truly holy. God didn't build us that way. It is a losing battle that can end in a tormented soul -- one that is trapped in failure . . . aka Christian/Catholic guilt.

I strongly disagree that we should reach for holiness. I feel that joy comes from knowing that you are a good person and knowing that you are contributing the best that you've got to the world and people around you.

    Just my 2 cents . . .

  • EXCELLENT!!!!

  • You hit the nail right on the head! You are absolutely right! This video put a big smile on my face, thanks, and have a Joyous day! : )

  • Thanks, Joe :-)

  • I agree with you 100%

    God Bless you!!

  • Thank you!

  • Happiness is a temporary state. A reaction in the moment.

  • Exactly. And seeking it will always prove dissatisfying.

  • Great vid. We must grow where we are planted. I think many confuse " life more abundantly" with fleshly things rather than the things of the spirit. God Bless.

  • Very true.

  • I dunno, just sounds like something promoting the hierarchy and status quo. Having happy plebs throws off the ebb and flow of things.

  • mikma was here

  • Hey mikma :-)

  • Very nice, very good points, very heartfelt. I agree, joy beats happiness by miles! It is a more quiet, contented feeling.

  • And definitely more eternal.

  • I'm not a good christian, but I do listen to what you say and it's like food for the soul.

I hope you are writing this stuff down somewhere for safe keeping. It's great stuff, your short sermons would make for good reading. Have you thought of that?

  • Hi...no I never have. I just speak from the heart but maybe I should.

  • "God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing."

    C. S. Lewis

  • He was so full of wisdom.

  • why did god invent dinosaurs?

  • "Cause they're neat?

  • Thank you for this. Excellent video. :-)

  • Thank you.

  • Great video! Glad to hear your point of view. I feel the same way. I find happiness in believing in God and his miracles.

  • Yes, but it should be called "joy" because that is the assurance He gives you :-) Nothing accidental about it.

  • VK, being holy, thus ensuring the Christian God's blessings will ultimately bring true happiness? Does this mean that non Christians the world over of every faith or non faith can never find true happiness? Agnostics and atheists the same? That the pursuit of happiness leads to earthly sin? Your declaration of independence says "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Is this phrase misleading?

  • Can I butt in? It depends on what your definition of happiness is. To me, any happiness which isn't founded on Jesus is a false sense of happiness.

  • Elizabeth01010101, while I admire Sainter very, very much, I must state that I agree with you 100% and am glad you said this the way that you did.

  • That's fine, River. Please understand that I wasn't dismissing VK'S point of finding holyness first in a Christian context. I understand what she was saying. My point is that the theology behind it excludes the rest of humanity; that's two thirds of humanity who aren't Christian and by inference cannot find true happiness because Jesus is not in their lives. I disagree with this as a matter of principle. Also because it limits what happiness is. The definition of happiness is relative .

  • Favorited!

Excellent video. Good job, me dear.

  • Thanks Tony!

  • Hi, VK. ((hugs)) Love you. Great video again, as I told you before.

  • Thanks (((hugs)))

  • JMO, it all goes back to the ole saying "what goes around comes around", dont know if this saying is Christian based, but it can be. I cant tell you the number of times that it has rang true for me. If one does GOOD, good comes back but then again if one does bad, bad comes back.

  • Hi Smiths :-)

Actually that is a Christian ideal, but we say it a bit differently: We reap what we sow. And when we receive blessings, we return praise...it's cyclical :-)

  • Just gotta say hi to you!!

  • Isn't a "desire to bless" wanting us to be happy? I'm not quite sure I get it... I'd like to think God wants me to happy.

  • Yes, He desires to bless you.

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. And all these things will be added unto you.

See...seek the holiness first and He will pour our His blessings on you. But many of His blessing will not be what you seek.

  • Great Video

I know that most people want things to be happy and they want to replace there happyness with items. Happyness comes through Jesus.

Can you pray for me by the way because I am shutting down my ministry tomarrow.

    Take care and God Bless.

  • I saw that you had a video...I will do that friend. I'm sure God wil use you where you are called :-)

  • I think someone on stickam need this a couple days ago I think. This was what I tried to tell her. THank girl.

  • Hi Hon! I just hope the people that need to hear it do :-)

  • way to go VK, I think so many people think God is a cosmic wish disher, they have no idea what sumitting to God's will is..keep it up, I enjoy you insights as the Lord shows you his will for you God Bless and your still in my prayers.

  • Thank you so much, I appreciate every prayer I can get. And I hope that seeds are sown here.

  • I believe they are, (seeds sowed) as I see it, it's not fun to be a christain, if anything it's a hard row to hoe, not for the faint, but there is joy in God's will for our life.

  • No, the path is narrow. But the Way is easy and His burden is light. So while it's not "fun" the consequences of veering from the path in search of happiness will bring much more sorrow.

  • Interesting..

  • Not something you thought of?

  • No..I've never thought of it the way you expressed it in this video. I have been a christian for a long time and I'm just learning to truly live in the Spirit. I stopped chasing after happiness and started chasing after Jesus..happiness seemed to follow..it's a good life.

  • usgop, so true! We become God-Chasers, like the book (lol) and true and deep happiness follows.

  • Very good point.

  • Thanks...I hope the right people see this. :-)

  • Hey! look who's back on youtube =)

  • business as usual :-)

  • Wow this is weird........ its like well weird...

  • Indeed...the Christian life is contrary to what we are told, and it is weird. We are called to do virtually everything differently, and yes, we get called weird.

  • Well its because this pertains to me and my life very closely... Looks like God is answering prayers.

    I <3 VK

  • Then I'm certainly glad I made the video :-)
