I was looking at the crf 230f and im wondering is it worth it to get that or just get a crf250x? im riding a xr100 right now. im 5'8" 185 lbs. please help!!!

i just recently bought a 05 crf250x and my bike is doing the same thing. Only, it boggs in the lower rpm range. i figured the jets were clogged cuz the bike sat for a while before i bought it.

i rode it once, then stoped cuz it was bogging, and after i rode it, it is now hard to start and when it does start, the motor will over rev with out me pulling the throttle like a slide is stuck in the carb..... do you think a little carb cleaner will fix all of that?

Hey i want to buy a bike and i dont know wich one between the honda crf250r or the honda crf 250x.. so wich should i buy?

Im new at riding motocycle i rode alot when i was a kid but they were semi-automatic so i dont have that much experience with a klutch so wich one would be better for me?

(Btw we ride alot in trails and also try to climb lots of hills but not this big xD)

@Nameless41000 crf250x, I've had mine new sense 2008 it was is a good bike. I just put a couple parts on it, Pro taper contour bars(tougher then hell). I put 2 sets of tires on it this time im putting bridgestone m404 I believe Dunlop tires suck. I put the lexx mxe pipe with the removable core, It was only 180 but it was way worth the money because it sounds better then any fmf or other pipe I've heard on the 250x. The 250x does have less power then the 250r but it is mellow and good for trails

My dads CRF250X would never crank when it sat for over a week. So we replaced the aluminum stock valves with new steel valves. After $1,000 she cranks like a charm.

killarabs- I ride a 450r as my track bike. As for the questions regarding why I kicked it, It has an e-start, I just kicked it that time instead.

I have an 04 model and no problems at all with valves, people just start making this up, there was only one batch that was rly that bad

the hondas had serious issues with their valves 04-06.thats the major changes with um so not just graphics jack-ass,thats why i went to yamaha the wr rules

cause if you electic start all the time especily when its cold and takes a few turns to start ,the battery wont have as long of a life. who wants to pay $50 every six months. not me

If you have a battery tender,which honda recommends! Your battery will last forever!!!!

you just plug your bike in after riding. Also its a video showing his bike don't you think he would have electric started it for us if he could!

it all depends on how you like to start your bike. for me the first start up of the day ill kick but from there on out its the button. unless im around a bunch of racers that think the button is for lil wimps

I agree that its easier for the first start to kick it. After that is starts so easily with the "button".

And i hope the guys that call u a wimp for having a starter stall out on a steep hill or a mud bog sometime ;)

Looks like a good deal. No wear at all on the clutch cover. How much did you get it for? Were the valves within spec?
