  • St Andrew's University - home of Skorupski's Law...

  • i am a Canadian attending St Andrews next year. Anyone care to explain what Raisin Monday is??

  • @Skeedont It is initiation basically. I have never been more sick lol. and that was in 1990. Enjoy your time there. It is the best place in the world. What are you going to study?

  • @Skeedont Well basically at St. Andrews they have this tradition where new undergrads are paired with a "parent" 3rd year student, and the 1st yrs become the parent's "children". This reaches its most silly on so called Raisin Monday where the "children" are dressed up in silly clothes and given gifts by their "parents". Then they are let loose with the other children and encouraged to have a huge shaving foam fight in one of the quads, as we see here. Hope that explains it!

  • English brats! Awa ower the border!

  • Pity no mention of proper significance of Raisin Monday, namely day by which all first-year students (Bejants/Bejantines NOT 'Freshers') must acquire an Academic Parent(in 3rd year or above) so having access to lighthearted but invaluable guidance, friendship, counselling, all of which has long made major contribution to life at StA, not to mention very low drop-out rate.

  • when geeks go wild.

  • what a day that was!!

  • Raisin '07- I WAS THERE!
