ATA was one of my favorite airlines that I used to flight all the time. Till this day there is no other airline that could fill in those empty shoes that ATA had I always flown on ATA everywhere and I flown AA, NWA, SPIRIT AND UNITED and I still do not have the comfort Like I had with ATA it is a shame that such a good airline went to bankruptcy while others have bad customer service, and are not polite at all or had minor accidents and ATA was the only airline that was safe to fly.
Thank you for the posting. My first job "adult" job was with ATA in 1989. I was 18 years old at the time...and they were the only airline that would even give me a chance. I owe my start to them. I flew mostly global charters and even remember the old 727-100s with no overhead bins! just shelves!
Greetings Steve, I was based in DTW & MCO then back to DTW. I left when that base was closed, that how far back I go. Loved the MAC flights most! I was a galley hog on the L-1011. ATA was much fun, great crews, lasting friends. Peace to you all! And Vino was my favorite pilot.
My first trip to Orlando was on ATA we went via Gander in canada, it was on an old tri star, I always remember the lady taking care of us was called Shirl. best wishes Ricky.
Bravo!! Thank you ATA for the service you provided!!!!! As a former Flight Service Manager from TWA,,, my heart goes out to you all!!!!! God bless, and thank you ATA!!!!
My sincerest thanks for all you have contributed to the industry. I am terribly sorry for your loss, it is ours too. It is so sad to see a great carrier go under. Shame on anyone who wishes any airline goes under. We all share the same passion and when one goes down we should all suffer together. Best of luck to all of you in your search for a new home. I am more than happy to share my galley with you and your experience!
Thanks Steve... You were always one of my favorits.. Love ya.. ATA brought all of you into my life, and thats something i will never forget, they can never close the doors on that.. I wish the best for you..xoxo Tracy
Weren't the 90's a blast? If it happened in the World "we were there." From a Desert Storm 14k pin to Evacutaing Liberia during the civil war. "We were the worlds top flight Crew."Be Well, Stay Strong. It was Fun back then. It's not what ATA did for you... It's what you did for ATA.4landR
ATA laid off hundreds of mechanics and outsourced its maintenance to unqualified and understaffed repair stations under the banner of saving costs. They went belly up anyway. Good riddance!
To all those with the two tan stripes that turned dark blue. Old white shirts that turned tiedie. To the beginning of the shield ridding to landing with George behind the wheel. Good luck in your future. ATA Flight Attendants were on the worlds top flight crew. I know where you really Fly. Be well most bases JFK, MCO,LAS,LAX,LAS,SEA,LAX,PHL,LAX,

Thanks for the video! You won't miss us--we will all probably see more of each other now that we're not away on layovers! I wouldn't trade a moment of my time at ATA away. Everything added up to a wonderful run and memories that will never fly away.
I hope you don't mind me posting a video I made of a 1991 photo shoot Don Miller and I made.
