  • Haha that's so funny. I like how the narrator acts like planes and stop lights are futuristic, as if they weren't available in 1960.

  • @badskroy71 Idiot.

  • Did the Twilight Zone board on IMDB bring you here?

Twilight Zone, the best show ever written.

  • @BMD101 Haha yep, TZ brought me here

  • Hilarious! Especially the Man when he's in the car throwing F-bombs all over the place, and Grandma with the water and pills. I loved it, cheers for uploading. I thank you and my rowbutt thanks you.

  • This is amazingly accurate!

  • Realistic, really looks like 11 years ago (year 2000)

  • What's a row-butt?

  • "robut" grew funnier each time.

  • This was super depressing.....

  • I want a jetrocketcar!

  • awesome, i thought it was just a vid from the 1939 fair, but i found one of the best parodies ever.

  • the narrator make it sound so awesome lol

  • Loled when the guy says fuck you at 1:19 :D

  • Lol this had me at first :p

  • very clever! the futuristic terms of yesterday make it funny. why do the people look like slobs? nothing to do but lay around and watch educational tv like jerry springer! lol

or porn cam! hilarious! brilliant job. :P

  • lol Space Beam Communicator :P

  • Robit

  • Wow they were pretty much spot on!

  • this guy could of made it look more realistic -.-

  • Wow even stuff in the world 2000 looks old now just over 10 years later XD

  • Very well done! Thanks.

  • Lol, I Think Tht They Recorded In 2000, Then Said Tht It Was Actually Made In The Mid-20th Century To Make It Seem Like Ppl Back Then Were Smart, Im Not Sayin Tht They Wasnt Smart, Just A Lot Of Bad Decision Making Tht They Didnt Quite Kno Of, Is This Makin Any Since??

  • @TheGraduate1997 What in the hell are you talking about?

  • @HoldOnToThatFeeling All you had to say is no, you dont understand not what in the hell are you talking about

  • LOL! That was great!

  • Future is a little bit too 90's than I expected...

  • @Ivonz

There will always be mundane & lazy people... technology liberates those with ambitions and drive... This is a perfect representation of the lazy middle/working class individual.

And technology has given more happiness then any other thing on earth... ex: medical, electricity, cleaner water.... it's up to the individual to learn to use it as a tool and not be a tool...

  • @MrNra Technology does not "give" happiness. That's an utter fallacy. There is nothing more deluding that believing that more stuff will make your life better.

  • Comment removed

  • @HaoWenXiang

Never did i state more stuff = happiness... I stated technology brings more happiness and a more productive and efficient life to those who know how to use it to their benefit... Not allow them to do less work.. There's a differences...

  • @MrNra I didn't realize working your ass off and providing for the family is considered lazy. Laziness and middle/working class are not synonymous, so don't act like they are.

  • People are fucking stupid! I cannot believe people actually think/believe this was a real prediction!? This was made as a parody in 2000 people - funny parody but get a grip!

  • I love it!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

  • In the year 2000...

  • they forgot about the robots doing our jobs and giving us more leisure time! LOL

  • I'd love to see the original film that went with the soundtrack. If it isn't reworked over genuine commentary then somebody got that strange nasal accent of the time pretty good! One thing's true enough - the god-awful 'form-fitting' incredibly dated 80s shell-suit!

  • ...lol

  • @BabyLioness

correction, the 'happy pill' thing was kinda sad.

  • this video seems somehow fake.

  • How lucky we are!

  • Film showing at school in the 50's

Student: WOW! is this what the future looks like?

Teacher: Well yes it is. I see you are amazed. Even I am amazed as well.

    Students: WOW THE FUTURE SUCKS!

  • Comment removed

  • @hurricanesofhell Hahahahaha Yes I really love the 50's but I can't live in that time period either. Just can't imagine myself without cellphones, google, email etc. I'd be bored to death in cold evenings where I don't have anything to do. I can imagine myself sporting a nice pinstripe suit and derby hat though :)

Plus If I saw women everywhere wearing a long skirt, heels and a very elegant top (probably a cardigan, blouse or with a blaizer matching the skirt), I'd die a happy man XD

  • @mondeost2202008 a happy man? xD Lolol you'd be there for the clothes and the woman then!! i'd bring a computer and steven seagal movies and a portable dvd player back if i traveled back in time to that time!! :)

  • @hurricanesofhell LOL don't forget some source of internet connection (maybe a contract with Verizon perhaps?) unless of course, your idea of entertainment is reading Military Data off the ARPANET :P

  • @mondeost2202008 i'd be running across the streets! :) and running in circles around trees in someones back yard like a mad man!! :D hahaha >_o that is if i don't get around for stepping and playing on private property!!

  • @mondeost2202008 kids would see me and call me a crazy guy acting like a child then the police would have come to pick me up! :) due to a report of a neighbor "crazy man havin fun in my lawn" then i travel back to today!

  • Haha I nearly fell for this untill I saw blockbuster.

  • FROM THE YEAR 2000!!!!!!!

  • [Made In China]

  • america got sold a raw deal

  • i think these are just modern-day footages just turned black and white and made to match with what the narrator is saying :-/

  • from what year is this anyway? theres no way they could have predicted the car designs that way.

  • this isnt real right> cause if it is its omg hella freaky accurate, but if its a parody than its hilarious and thought invoking

  • actually that was very close :P

  • Ricky Lake wasn't on in 2000...

  • HAHAHA

  • The future's not what it used to be...

  • technology is not the (as I type a keyboard, writing to unseen humanoids)

  • ""gays apon the city of tomorrow"

  • CO ZA ASY

  • this is FAKE

there are new models of cars appearing

  • awsome video

  • Oh good god...

  • .....And the porno site!

  • they predicted the microwave and the vending machine.

  • a so deliciously sarcastic piece, gently explained here, in some real fine societal analysis ... welcome to our present world now. JUST GREAT ! *****

  • 3:15 "Or is that sis?" ROFL!!!

  • this was fucking hilarious

  • add some video crackliness, it'll look better, good sound though

  • I can't believe how accurate their predictions are! I really looks like contemporary living.

  • The Honda CRX, is indeed the future...lol

  • Scott Dikkers is hilarious...this is too funny. His new cartoons are great too.

  • Too bad the future BLOWS!

  • perfect example that technology does not equal happiness. All the marvels in the world cannot make up for basic human interaction, kindness, empathy, and especially the sense and purpose in life...

  • @Ivonz technology may not equal happiness, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to be happy. I understand that human interaction, empathy, and a purpose in life are fundamental to being a happy person, but if you're suggesting for one second that technology is either not beneficial to happiness, or detrimental to happiness, then you are a moron. If you're not suggesting that, and mean only what you've stated, with no implications, then I apologize for my assumptions and insult.

  • @afriend90 Why assume anything - Why not ask what I mean so we can have a nice dialogue?

Of course technology equals happiness - and life for that matter, but clearly too much reliance on it or just thinking it is there to do our laundry, drive us places, cook our food and well, do absolutely everything for us, well then we are missing the point and the possibilities. Technology is our best friend - but it is also a reflection of ourselves and as such can only do what we intend it to do

  • @Ivonz No!! o! nooo!.. sirr-ree!!! O_O i cant live in 1920's - 1940's - 1950's (O_o) I need internet i like the old dressing styles and music and cars and what not >_< but i need movies in color!! And i need internet O_O...Someone gonna have to tie me up and lock me in a trunk!! O_O Cause i need my movies in color!! And a dvd burner!! ^_^.. No offense to the old tiimes tho!

  • @Ivonz

But how can we reach that utopia of "interaction, kindness, empathy, and sense of purpose in life," not only among the members of our immediate family but across the globe where humanity will put aside genocide, religious fanaticism, dictatorial rule, warfare, and endless party-line bickering and live in peace and harmony as members of the same family?

  • @irajkhodadoost Good question - a lot of scholars talk about the fact that when basic human needs are satisfied (food, health, shelter, education, security of person) then we are more likely to focus on others other things than ourselves and be more empathic. I'd say time will show the way: if we're paying attention we will not make the same mistakes twice and future generations can also learn from us too on how to strike that perfect balance... Internet and ICTs will play a big role for sure

  • @Ivonz Well, we HAVE conquered polio and smallpox, so we future people have that going for us at least.

  • @Ivonz glad we could just enjoy the joke and video

  • lol 54 people were completely accurate in their dislike of this moving picture as brought to them by calculating super robot brains xD

  • Obey the rule of traffic cop? The guy had his cell phone out while driving...

  • @XionTheUnknown Most places, it wasn't illegal to do that yet. Remember, this film is about Y2K

  • OMG, I'm such an idiot. It totally took me like a whole minute to get this.

  • lol @ 1:34

  • Wicked Awsome Job! That was so funny!

  • @mariehansler

In the Future, Sarcasm exists. Lol

  • progrums

  • @2:38 "the super-intelligent citizens of tomorrow" hahahahahahaha

  • atm balance....$58.00

  • We can see that this was actually made a long time ago because there is a Blockbuster store

  • @kenanscott24 Good eye Kenan!

Also by the the un-super Walmart.

  • Space beam communicator lulz

  • "You're welcome mister ROBUTT banker."

  • Thanks for the laugh.

  • funny how the future becomes a mix of utopian and dystopian predictions

  • @Zareste Good comment. Yes, isn't it so true? Its a total mix of utopian and dystopian predictions. If you take out Infant Morality from the statistics Americans are actually dying earlier than ever before. All the damn chemicals, plastics, cars, pollution, radiowaves, super robutt calculating brain machines, all of it is killing us. All this technology should be making our lives better and taking us to the outter planets of the solar system but its not. Low-skill jobs more common than ever now.

  • @mrjustin5 Do your research, thanks to modern medicine people are living longer than before.

  • @misteryoungMY I used to think people were living longer than before. I used to believe the lies in Time Magazine and other publications showing pictures of people being 130 years old who only look like they are 60 by todays standards. But I have done research and if you take away the infant mortality (all children under the age of 6) from the statistics - people are living SHORTER LIVES than they were 50 years ago. Modern medicine just reduces young childrens death and post-labor deaths.

  • @misteryoungMY No, it just seems like it.

  • BWAHAHAHA!!! Oh GOD I am DYING!!! I watched it from 1:00 to 1:28 over and over about 3 or 4 times. I'm laughing my ass off. That Narrator is hilarious while that guy is swearing on his cell phone... I mean "Space Beam Communicator"... he says "Fucking BULLSHIT... and FUCK YOU!!" before hanging up the phone all pissed off... oooh god... I am wiping tears away from my eyes its so funny... I haven't had a good laugh in so long... I'm hysterical after 3 hours of sleep.

  • If you think this is depressing, when I was a kid I thought we'd all be nuked by now!

  • good stuff.

  • OH MY GOD! THAT WAS SO FUCKING FUNNY!

    HAAAHHAHAHHHHAH!

    **choke**

    HHAAHHAHHAHHHHHAHAH!

If YouTube still had a star rating system, I would have given this 5 stars!

    Lord have mercy . . .

  • That's right ,we're too hung up on things to see and appreciate all of the things we have in the modern world that were not available in 1950. They imagined jet cars and moving sidewalks and food that you could pop in your mouth like a pill and robot maids and room-sized computers with blinking lights and dials. What they got wrong wasn't so much what they predicted it's what they did NOT predict. The future WAS/IS amazing, but if you fixate on all the wrong things you might not think so.

  • Fucking brilliant. First time I laughed today.

  • robutt. progrum.

  • This is great. It also shows how extremely ironic everything is. It shows that everything is glorious and fabulous in the future, but it just increases hassle and unhappiness.

  • THAT'S A KEEPER.

  • Haha, thats real great!! And all this i can see with my super calculator robotmachine! ;)

  • poor grandma... :(

    god this is depressing... LOL

  • funny and sad!

When I was a kid in the 60s,I was sure we'd all be like The Jetsons by now! :o/

  • if this video existed back then, so many suicides would have occurred... >: )

  • I just time traveled all the way from 1950, and im disappointed. But hey, you 21st century people have internet porn, so i guess that's worth it

  • LOL "personal transport pods"

  • BEHOLD! THE FAR OFF YEAR 2000!!!

    God, am I disappointed.

I grew up with the Flinstones and the Jetsons.

    And that was 1995...

NOW IN THE FAR OFF YEAR 2010!

    Life stil sucks.

  • I'm laughing, but my tears are not ones of joy.

  • lol energy pills and jet fuel

  • I can't wait for the happy pills!!

  • @belguidogato....You are now lol

  • i love how he says robot like Zoidberg (the ROBITS!)

  • i almost died laughing at this

thank god for future pills making me live forever and ever

  • I want to live in the Future!

  • life will never be this wonderful

  • It's not too late for the "suicide rate to skyrocket". Obama alone is enough to make it happen.

  • Poor Grandma.

  • Hi mom or is that sis, haha

  • fuckin awesome!

  • oh yeah porn

  • Hahahaha!! Excellent!

  • hahahah excellent! :)

  • On the phone " WELL FUCK YOU. "

  • never has such mundane footage been so hysterical.

  • wow the cars look just like in 2000!

  • @TomJayable

ummm...maybe because the video was made on or after the year 2000. It's a joke...

  • ROCKET CAR!!!!

  • This is funny! It actually sounds believeable.

  • Wow, is this really from the 1950s? If it is, then they really were accurate. That's pretty amazing.

  • @Yyyyzyyy

It's meant to be funny, not for real

  • @Yyyyzyyy Tell me you're being sarcastic?!

  • LOL ... this was hilarious ....omfg ..

if only we had their optimism ...50 yrs from now might actually hold some hope.

  • I fear depending on small objects which I can break, enter garbage into and not realize I am getting garbage out or lose and replace at much inconvenience and cost only to find it sitting in a black hat in the corner of a closet. The future worries me a lot.

  • This is brilliantly done!!! Kudos!

  • Comment removed

  • don't blame me auguste found it!

  • LMFAO this is great

  • Tr y to look away while listening to the video. It'll sound more bizarre.

  • This is SO AWESOME. Did you write the text or pull some of it from a real old time news reel? Brilliant.

  • shit i still fell for it for the first few seconds

  • Love it!

  • jet rocket cars. Lol the airplane

  • take..off...your...panties.

  • 1:15 I KNOW he said "well, FUCK YOU"

  • LMAO

  • This is impossible. They show the exact models of cars and ATM, they couldn't have known that and there was no way to do them. Moreover the picture is too good to be made in mid-20th...

  • @TheSoftwhisper

you arent very observant are you

  • @TheSoftwhisper naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • @TheSoftwhisper wow... just...wow.... my plastic horse is less naive than you

  • @TheSoftwhisper LoL.... wtf are you serious?!

  • @TheSoftwhisper its not its a satire, look how accurate the black and white is

  • robutt

  • 'Why whats this? Thats right a Robut bed, that changes its shape to suit the slightest whim of human comfort. LOL!

  • Where can I get the music to this?

  • pure ironie.

  • holy shit, that was hilarious and so true. I didn't know if I should laugh or kill myself...:)

  • @CosmoStokewood So true?

WTF are you talking about? This video was made in the future that it is talking about dick head!

  • Very entertaining. It describes our present lives fairly accurately! I realize this was a recently made satire...

    Jerry G.

  • If I lived in the 50's and saw this I would have no hope for the future.

  • ahhh if only this were real, it's hilarious

  • hihi
