was never a fan of 58's cos you didn't see many round the north west, except occasionally at warrington. i don't see why anyone would hate them though.

I like all types of Diesel Loco's, very happy a class 58 has been saved so it can run on railtours (making sure the driver does not hit the buffer stops) & appear at Diesel Gala's.

How can anyone have anything against 58's - or hate them? They are no longer seen at all - and are more rare than steam these days!

The thing to hate are Class 66's and Unit garbage.

The 58`s are great loco`s and one day,hopefully, they will be in main line use again IN THE UK, but why knock the 66`s! You have to drive them to know them and they are a great machine and NOT made really for the heavy trains they pull ! Watch out for our new class 70 Powerhauls with FLHH, then you will see a loco move a mountain! Great vid, thanks from `A Driver`.
