  • I liked how thnderbirds just suddenly became popular again in the 1990's and early 2000's

  • @UnCanadienFrancis Sometimes I called my screens the Thunderbirds I called my XBOX 360 Thunderbird 1, My Computer Thunderbird 2, My TalkTalk mail Thunderbird 3 & I still don't know about what which screen is Thunderbird4 & Thunderbird 5 I would think?

  • WOW! These marionettes are BETTER THAN HUMAN ACTORS!

  • I want that voice.

  • FAB...Love this show as a kid. Spectacular SFX without blue screen and CGI -- amazing!!!!

  • It's hard to believe that this and 'Thunderbird 6' were box office failures. I think the story lines were a little too focused on Alan instead of all the thunderbirds, but still great movies in my opinion, definitely Gerry Anderson was at his best with Thunderbirds, no question. Thanks for the upload. :)

  • In the fall of 1965 Then-President Lyndon B. Johnson had the NERVE to butt-in to THE BOZO SHOW (and other After-School Kids Shows) to have a News Conferance. :( But us Detroit-Area Kids had a little trick up our sleeves, across the River was CANADA and their Station also had Kids Shows! Tuning in what do I see? Puppets flying Spaceships and operating Strange Gadgets! I LIKE! Goodbye Bozo HELLO THUNDERBIRDS! This was my first introduction to Science Fiction. Thank You President Johnson!

  • Listen to this first thing in the morning and you'll get a LOT done that day : )

  • @trilingual Hahaha you're right !!!

  • @UnCanadienFrancais Gerry Anderson said that it didn't mean anything other than "Fabulous".

  • the music.....this one and only audio-track.....epic!!!!

  • How the hell did they achieve that shot with TB2-has to be the studios finest moment.

  • FAB UnCanadienFrancais

  • 1 person thinks the Thunderbirds should stop.

  • @TimJimBuam Then let's see that he/she's booked on the next FireFlash/ Zero-X flight.

  • 5. 4. .3 . 2. 1 and then KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

  • The 1 dislike got shot by the car

  • A new series of TV commercials for 0800 Repair uses CGI to emulate Gerry Anderson puppetry

  • I has not seen them for 30+ years. Thank for youtube :)

  • didn't stand for anything, words of the day were fab, groovy etc, so they used fab, hence f.a.b

  • didn't stand for anything, words of the day were fab, groovy etc, so they used fab, hence f.a.b

  • Super Mario Nation ?? LoL so that where nintendo got their inspiration for Super Mario

  • @bark1986 supermarionation was the technique used by Gerry Anderson's puppeteers on the series, it's derived from the term 'Marionette', meaning 'puppet controlled by strings'.

  • I think that gun from the front of the car is all like "You've seen too much! We gotta kill you."

  • omg the best programme ever!!!!!!!!

  • I have seen several interviews with Gerry Anderson and he says exactly what JKSpiero has said. PWOR means ''proceeding with orders received''. That is from Troy Tempest himself.

  • are GO! even in Italy!

  • Actually, "F-A-B" was just a spelling out, based on the popular British catchphrase at the time. 9This was the 1960's, and the Beatles made their world debut in '64. Some newspapers called them "the 4 Lads from Liverpool" while others called them "the Fab Four" (short for "fabulous.")

Other Anderson shows like STINGRAY and CAPTAIN SCARLET had call-phrases like P-W-O-R, and S-I-G (the latter meaning "Spectrum Is Green.")

  • another version says that FAB stood for "Fully Acknowledge(d) Broadcast'

  • Wish it was speeded up in pitch a little seems abit slow from what i saw in tv.

  • if ever two people deserved more recognition for their work in tv and film its Gerry Anderson and Barry Gray.

    Arise Sirry Gerry !!!

(and its about time those idiots at the BBC funded you too - albeit it 40 years late)

  • This was one of my favorite TV shows as a kid. What fond memories...Here's a little trivia:

    What does "FAB" stand for?

Give up? It stands for "Full Acknowledgment of Broadcast". How cool, huh?

I received the movie, Thunderbirds 6" for my birthday this month. I love it!!

    Thanks for the memories....

  • @elopez961 i thought ot was FREE ALL BROADCASTS as kids we used to funderbirds are brill

  • i think this movies opening is better than the series

  • They don't make them like this anymore :(

  • I always thought that it was clever of them to name all the pilots after the original Mercury astronauts.

  • yeah poor gordon didn't see any action, they should make another thunderbirds with tb4 actually in it

  • this video is F.A.B

  • Thunderbird 2 was always my fave.

  • This has got to be one of the greatest movie themes of all time. It gives me goosebumps!

  • hear hear

  • WHat does goosebumps mean?

  • its another name for the pimples you get on your body when you are cold

  • Thanks

  • That's funny, I had this feeling that the music sounded quite similar to the theme from the Japanese movie "Destroy All Monsters"?

  • They included Thunderbird 4 in this opening, but it wasn't actually used in the Zero x film or the Thunderbird 6 film, was it? Just a fair point I had to make.

  • @imperialtrooper501 If you have the video front coverof thunderbirds are go, the 1990's cover thunderbird 4 is on the front cover and in white, not yellow, and as you said thunderbird 4 wasn't used for both

  • what did F A B stand for?

  • Fine-Acknowledge Broadcast

  • Comment removed

  • @UnCanadienFrancais How did you find that out!?

  • @UnCanadienFrancais really?

  • @jetmanbd Fisting At Bitches.

  • @jetmanbd Full Acknowledgment of Broadcast

  • @jetmanbd According to Sylvia Anderson....absolutely nothing....it was just the lingo of the 60's and sounded cool.

  • @jetmanbd Forward and beyond? Gordon looks like Michael York.

  • I LOVE this opening they should have used it in the series its just brilliant!!!

  • I don't care what they say, you CAN'T beat "Supermarionation."

  • LMFAO!!!!! i noticed that too, ya think theirs a little corporate theft?...

  • hahahahahahaa thats waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy back into time.

    But it rocks, BRILLIANT!

  • Is this for real? I know it probably can't be, but my god it's well made!

  • yep this is 100% real after the success pf the series they made 2 feature films 'Thunderbirds Are Go!' and 'Thunderbird 6' both are available on DVD

  • FAB

  • BRILLIANT
