Austins great but how do you compare him to the rock? Rock is better on the mic, hes a better athlete, hes a better wrestler(austin drinks beer punches someone and does the stunner), he has more charasma, hes in better shape. I guess people like him because hes blue collar and they hate cena and the new generation. But Rock is a hundred times better than austin and McMahon and some people like austin better cause he didnt go to hollywood. Austins great hes loyal but he is not The Rock.

i still dont think randy orton ruined the era, cena was brought as a "so called" replacement for the rock, but that went wrong, and they also brought in randy orton to replace stone cold and i tihnk randy orton is doing well living up to the standards but cena aint, hence the rko and stunner being a sort of "shock move"

@rkoman2 Austin did kick off Attitude, but it was the Tock who shined in the latter parts of it. Austin was mostly the focus of 97-99, and Rock the focus 99-01. I say they are both equal cause they both just had strong characters that drew everybody in. People can call Rock a sellout all they want, but nobody put over a massive amount of people in a short amount of time that he did. While Austin was refusing to put people over, Rock was right there to put them over in good fashion.

Yes, Austin was a good technical wrestler in his early career, but fans seemingly credit him only for what he did after that.

The match with Owen Hart at Summerslam '97 totally ruined him.

What's funny is that people don't remember him as the technical Ringmaster or early Stone Cold, who performed in great technical matches, they remember him as the man who stunned Mr. Macmahon drunk beer etc. totally ignoring his wrestling performances.
