@Aerovelocity AMEN!!! can you believe this guy? Meanwhile, he and they give another 200 billion to Pakistan! Baucaus has got to go! We have to take back our government people-otherwise they all think it's ok-to give a trillion a year away in foreign aid and forget the average american! Vote all incumbents out and go wit progressives!
Max Baucus ... please tell all Americans your NOT seriously considering the bill as it sits... HOW on gods green earth would that help American families....
and then let's hope it goes from public option to single-payer! What's up with the nonprofit co-op? But, (I'm trying to make lemonade from lemons) I DO like that aging meat-eaters who do not have sufficient health coverage will die faster than they can drain the system. Ha!
I'm much more optimistic now than I was a month ago, however. The CBO showing that the Baucus bill REDUCES the debt means that the plan could serve as a bottom floor for the debate. A public option could be added to that bill without adversely affecting the debt.
And the Baucus bill has no cost control on the private side, so there are ways to squeeze more savings out of the plan.
In the long run, Baucus could end up really helping the cause.
Good old Max Baucus. Sold us out for money. He is the single biggest recipient of insurance lobbyist money. His bill not only eliminates the public option that allows people to choose between private insurance, and gov. administered insurance, it REQUIRES all Americans, without exception, to buy PRIVATE insurance, enriching them even further.
funny how Herr Olbermann thinks that insurance requirement is BAD BAD BAD!!!... but had no problem with the same requirement in the Obama bill in the House.
Uh, corncat, I think you have your facts wrong; Obama supported a public option, which Baucus killed, that would have allowed everyone a Choice between their own private plan which they could keep, or a gov.-administered plan (I'm talking about the paperwork, not the medicine). Even if Obama had once put forward such a bill, it would have been Medicare for All, not crummy private insurance with high deductibles no-one can afford, for all; putting billions more in the insurance cos' pockets.
Max Baucus does not represent the people of Montana. He represents the interests of insurance companies.
