...The stage version is different. Different lyrics, lower notes. The role of Milly was written for Debbie Boone, and her distinctive voice type. She was an alto-vibrato. So am I. They made most of the notes higher so that the movie version's Milly could sing it easily. She has a beautiful voice. They took out a lot of songs. Though, being Milly onstage is wonderful. I just closed as Milly for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Love the musical.

@Zara0692 but it's still their voices- pretty much all movie musicals record their songs in the studio and just mouth to them on set when filming because it enables the cast to move about more and put more expression into the songs without having to concentrate on their singing.

@jimvs1 Actually YOU need to look it up..take the JUNE BRIDE number...only VIRGINIA GIBSON (one of the brides) voice was used..all the other brides had one of the following SINGERS dubbing them...BARBARA AMES .. BETTY ALLAN... BETTY NOYES... MARIE VERNON ... and NORMA ZIMMER

YOU NEED to look it up.I already did and I'm right(no offense).Only one of the Brides had her voice dubed(Ruth).Startpage this movie,it will be on wikipida(might be mispelled)and there it will give information on the brides and the movie...ect.

The others ALL sang,except for Ruth.

@jimvs1 hey..I gave you the names of the singers...they are even listed on the CD ..only Virginia Gibson among the brides had expeirence as a Broadway singer..all the others were dancers..I mean really..you think Julie Newmar was a singer??..lol

If you did research,then you would know that even though she is not noticed for these talents,Julie Newmar was an acomplished singer and she also played the panio.

The others sang,but are better known for their dacing.
