@sour7lemon To be more clear, for ex, generally I do not agree with the Glenn Goud's interpretation of Bach's Well tempered clavier WTC. In another hand, I do not like very much Richter's WTC. But I recognize that Gould and Richter always find what is THE main question of each prelude and each fugue, and also of the work in itself. I do not like the answers, but I know Gould and Richter are great musicians who pose clearly the question. Here VG and ND are looking for the question ! Nora

C'est de la MUSIQUE !! Pas du mime ni du théâtre. En ce qui me concerne, elles peuvent faire tous les gestes qu'elle veulent, peu me chaut ! Le résultat est magnifique et je ne trouve absolument pas la voix de V. Gens métalique, au contraire, son timbre est riche et profond.

Dessay and Gens compliment each other beautifully... as for the gestures, yes, Dessay exagerates. But the sounds are glorious.

@alejandra379 I agree too. I think Dessay works really well in duest and Gens is just superfb at this whole period. I honestly had reservations before I clicked on this because of what I'd heard, but am so gla dI waited til I'd heard it. It definitely rivals the DiDonato /Ciofi recording I forked out NEARLY £15 for grrrr lol Of all the ensembles, I would love to hear live the Concert D'Astree and The Sixteen more than anyone else.

Madame Gens chante toute renfermée, c'est très désagréable...on a malheureusement l'impression d'une débutante, alors qu'elle est une chanteuse confirmée.C'est vrai que Madame Dessay est chiante à force de bouger, mais son geste est compréhensible et nécessaire... au moins elle vit

J'ai jamais éprouvé un sentiment si violent de répulsion en regardand une chanteuse "performer". Dessay est une pollution visuelle, en prenant ce qui est de pire de chanteuses pop qui dégoûtent avec leurs gestes pendant leur émission vocale. Hideux ! Really.

selon moi tu oublie qu'elle n'est pas en concert ni en scène, donc ce qu'elle fait c'est pour elle même et pas pour être vu, au contraire des chanteuse pop qui font la plus part ça pour épater; selon moi ses jestes sont très intéressants et ont une valeur spécifique pour elle; je pense que c'est la musique qu'elle a dans sa tête qui la porte a "danser" avec les bras

Contrairement à Gens, qui a une voix métallique, Dessay a une voix très pure. Par contre Petibon est un guignol !

Le blond ne va pas du tout à Natalie. Je l'aime juste en blonde dans la mise en scène d'Ariadne auf Naxos de Salzbourg. Haendel n'est pas adapté pour Natalie contrairement à Véronique Gens qui est faite pour chanter cette musique, Mozart et le baroque français (Lully, Rameau, Gluck).
