I also have the AKG K 272HD and uDac2 for my nightstand, and the Westone UM3x for travel. Lack of money is not the problem, I just don't buy useless crap ;)

I don't know how much Hifiman has at an entry level price point besides their IEM line, JH Audio is pricey and custom molded, though impressive. Love UE, started me off on this crazy hobby with the super.fi 6-7 years ago.

Most reviews from respectable sources say these sound ok, but are terrible bang for buck. You can get a pair of ATH-M50's and by styling with a REAL set of hifi cans. I recommend you head over to head-fi.org. The guys over there will set you up with a set of cans to compliment your musical taste.
