One tip I'd add is the "Snag It" software. I just started playing with this photo editing tool and it does a lot of cool things like torn edge and a faded look. I'm sure you've heard of it, but I'm loving the way it makes the images look on my blog.
I've used this before for web images, it is certainly is a great site and cheaper than iStockphoto too. Thanks for sharing that Jay!
