It looks like you're in Noyes House, so I can see how this would be useful, what with having doors that lock on their own most of the time. Does the door still unlock with a key? I'd think security would have a problem with this if it didn't.

Yes, Noyes.
It still unlocks with the key. Nothing about the door has been changed, Security doesn't mind.

What kind of motor is that? It looks like a printer carriage motor assembly to me.

Now set up a linear actuator to actuall swing the door open/shut the door, and it would be usefull...
