runway is way better because it is more feirce and if you do runway you most likely get paid more if you do it with top designers. And you have to be atleast 5'9 to 5'11 to do runway
I have noticed that these so-called 'runway models' tend to fake height because society has warped their minds so much. And this puts sickening ideas in everyone else's minds that they should fake height too, because it is supposed to 'make you look better.' That is such bull
That's right. Fashion models were intended to look like hangers, much to the admiration of every gay designer, and not the other 98 percent of men out there.
5 ft 8 to 6 feet? That sounds like the height requirements of the National guard or the Goliath of Gath University Women's basketball league.
FACT: 90 percent of white American women are shorter than 5 feet 8, and 90 percent of white American men are shorter than 6 feet 2.
@rephaim22 It's nothing to do with designers being gay. Tall skinny models can pull off different silhouettes, cuts, and draping. They are like a blank canvas. If they used shorter heavier models, many designs and shapes would be very unflattering on them and they would not be able to pull them off -this would limit designers to the silhouettes or styles they could design. Keep in mind that no one is saying fashion models represent an ideal beauty, they're just human hangers- that's their job.
Personally, I could never figure out why so many people in modeling make such an issue out of height. I could live with accepting weight and skin health, but everybody who wears clothes are different shapes, heights and sizes when they shop for them anyway. I just think that the modeling personal are only limiting themselves with the scenario of height, since not everybody, especially women are all going to be 6 ft or more. I believe they should change that rule and broaden their horizons a bit.
okay i do agreee u have to be at least 5'8 and up to do runaway modeling, but um the height does not matter in ALL aspects of modelling, maybe u should look that up!
if your short u could still model, i have friends who model and there 5'2 -3,4, sure they don't obviously do runaway but runaway ain't the best type of modeling there is out there, and i'm saying this to alll those short people out there, jus cuz u can't do runaway or r short don't let these stupid videos be ur downfall!
You are pathetic. You don't have to be 5'9+. Many models are 5'7 and above.
You guys said mention on your voice message how you guys accept 5'8 models, yet, when a 5'8 models comes in for casting, you people decline the height and say You guys only accept 5'9 models and above. Thats why you guys went of business!!
Modeling is just another occupation that enforces the thinking that tall and thin is the look and short isn't. How can a woman who is 5'4", 120 think when looking at a woman who is modeling clothing at 5'10" 105 lbs,"Hey, that's what I will look like in that clothing"...lol give me a break.
Wow you make vanity sound like a science. Im impressed,on inspiration, I'm going to get my ass hairs plucked, and my back waxed and try out for modelling...thx from Irma
I have a question about hair styles for a black male model. I have braids and i want to know if that is a model no no and do u have any suggestions of other hair styles to make me have a more model look other than cutting my hair off?
Man you should go into casting with your hair styled in easy pullbacks but make them look intersting. No beads and bangles just nice clean pull back up dos and pony tails and make sure it's super neat and groomed.
I think short girls are very unattractive. Tall and thin females look very elegant & ideal.

Most female fashion models are between 5ft8-5ft11
Most male fashion models are between 6ft0 - 6ft3
Commercial, Catalogue, Fitness modeling does allow slightly shorter models though, 5ft7 for girls and 5ft11 for guys is acceptable,

I don't get why you can't be just 5'2 or something, this is discrimination against shorter peoples, (or taller xD)

are you kidding me? there are soo many high fashion models that are 5'7" the agencies just change their height to 5'8"
odile890 3 years ago
she did say ideal. besides then everyone could be a model and the agencies would go bankrupt.
