@RICHLES01 - In the 1980's I read Irwin Schiff's book and agreed with his opinion that being forced to sign my 1040 under oath was a violation of my 5th Amendment right not to be a witness against myself. Nevertheless, Irwin Schiff wound up convicted of Income Tax evasion and failure to file tax returns. He is in jail.

You may THINK there is no law requiring us to pay income taxes, but the courts do not support that POV and you will end up in jail, and/or bankrupted by penalties & interest.

This proves my point... that the banksters would much rather lobby Congress to get bailed out with the taxpayer's money because the courts will easily punish and prosecute people who do not pay taxes.... while people who default on credit cards are risking nothing more than being sued for the balance due in Civil court, where the price of losing the case is a civil judgment for monetary damages - NOT jail time.

Besides - many people are catching on that it's not that hard to defeat collection

Here's the deal folks: the banks are squeezing everybody and when their squeeze pushes some over the edge they have to squeeze those who remain all the harder. Look into Advanta Bank and what's happened to it, because that's the template for what's happening to the other major banks.

Too much money was printed, too much money was spent (on your card) and now the banks are trying to pull money back in! If the money is not pulled in then we will have inflation! Money has to be reined in one way or another!

@HatRatt - yes, the extra "vapor money" is created at the time we use credit... that is what drives prices up via supply and demand. The more "vapor money" consumers have available to spend, the more that providers of goods and services can raise prices due to increased demand. THEN, the higher prices are driven, the more people are manipulated into using credit instead of cash.

It's a VICIOUS CYCLE - and a vicious cycle that was DELIBERATELY calculated to make us dependent on credit.

Oh, BTW. You don't have to pay income taxes. No law exists that you do. There is currently a $50,000 reward for anyone who can find the law that requires us to pay income taxes to the Feds. Even signing your tax return is waving of your 5th ammendment rights, thus making the tax return Unconstitutional.

I'm familiar with all of those constitutional tax protest arguments... including the 5th Amendment challenge to being forced to sign the tax return under penalties of perjury. I thought Irwin Schiff was correct about that years ago...constitutionally... but the courts haven't upheld the constitution against the IRS. Irwin Schiff is in Federal Prison AGAIN for the second or third time. I recommend keeping the protest in the realm of civil disobedience. Don't ruin your life fighting the IRS.

I respectfully submit that becoming involved with a tax protest movement like that advocated by Joe Banister would place you in danger of being tried and convicted of a tax crime. The powers that be would be much happier with people doing that, because they already know exactly how to crush that kind of activity.

Keep it CIVIL and keep it LEGAL, folks. That's how we can WIN and stay in our homes and stay out of jail.

Dealing with the debt collection agencies is a piece of cake if you know what to do.

The real challenge was the lawsuit. But after I forced a bankster's attorney to dismiss his case against us, the debt collectors felt like toothless garter snakes.

Keep your home phone in a spare room behind a closed door and turn down the ringer. Use caller ID and never pick up a strange call. Let them leave a voice message and then just delete it.

Keep your cel phone private - friends & family only.

I like you Lady, I just bought your book. I have been playing with one credit card company since they increased my interest rate to 29.99%, I haven't made a payment in 4 months now. They actually charged me a late fee on 1 payment that was 5 days early, even shows it on my statement.  I also refuse to talk to them when I can't understand what they are saying (East Indians), I tell them I want to speak to someone that speaks CLEAR AND FLUENT English! then hangup.

How self-righteous djguy100. We 've lived in a credit-debt society since the Federal Reserve Act was passed in 1913. The privilege to create money out of thin air, via lending, has been SOLD to the public for the enrichment of the banksters. We have been taught to treat that goddam FICO score as gospel, and to believe that we can't function economically without it. In truth, as soon as I could no longer depend upon credit to support my needs, I learned how to live without it very quickly.

I completely agree - if you can't pay cash for it, or use a debit card, don't buy it. I had to break free of the debt trap in order to survive. I've started over. As soon as I dumped all 4 credit cards and defaulted, I could afford to pay cash for everything I really needed, and the FICO score didn't matter. Unless you continue to USE credit, the FICO score is almost meaningless. It is intended to coerce you into maintaining payments to legalized counterfeiters at usurious interest rates.

And BTW, djguy100 - I don't know WHAT world you think YOU live in, but the world I see around me has bought into the debt trap... hook, line and sinker.

It was sold to the world in one of the most spectacularly successful marketing strategies ever employed - get something NOW, and pay for it later ; making legalized counterfeiters filthy rich in the process. The banksters get paid enormous interest rates on an initial investment of nothing but bookkeeping entries and electronic credits.

Suze Orman doesn't believe in contesting collection. She believes in negotiating, cooperating, and playing in THEIR sandbox.  I do NOT. I think that the FICO score is economic blackmail - trying to force everyone to capitulate to THEIR rules in order to be able to function. Ironic that Suze Orman said during her TV lecture: "Women are warriors and we do not turn away from the battlefield". BS - she won't even fight. If I had gone bankrupt my score would've been ruined for 7 years too.

We get along just fine without a good FICO score. We use a debit card, and one - only ONE - credit card issued by our Credit Union. We pay it off regularly and the FICO score is gradually improving. It's been over 5 years now and most of the bad entries will be gone after 7 years - same as if I'd gone bankrupt or negotiated reduced debt. Those things trash your score, too... or didn't Suze mention that?

I'm familiar with all the tax protest arguments, NoBailout4Banksters, and the truth is that no one has succeeded in defeating the IRS with any of those arguments. They will steam-roller you right into Club Fed where you can drink out of a tin cup alongside Irwin Schiff.

I do not advocate putting ourselves in jeopardy. Do not put yourselves at risk of being arrested and tried for a Federal Tax evasion crime. Simply BOYCOTT THE FED BANKING SYSTEM.
