Looks great, Spectra rocks, I've used them for years! Though according to their website they still haven't gotten that new Spirit HD/SD transfer machine. So I'm assuming that means all you get on your mini-DV transfer is standard resolution of 720 X 480? Anyway I've been dying to try out my R16 but the cost of transfer is just too much. Was your transfer REALLY that bad, how did you do it? I mean just imagine how much could be saved by only having to pay for film and developing!

@wattehel OK, yeah. I noticed rolling horizontal bars and some loss of picture around the edges- that was the worst thing about it. But ya know, I'm gonna try it again myself and get back to ya- see I've got this inexpensive 'Video Album Copy Kit", and recently aquired a Canon Vixia HD camera so I'm hoping I can get some better results. Will it be as good as Rank transfer? No- but for a short film such as a music video I'm hoping it might just work.
