Dark hair on white background isn't that difficult with nearly every masking technique... furthermore, on the transparency you won't see all the imperfections. Especially with the dublicated layer it will get much worse at the edges. Nevertheless, for a basic Instruction it's quite nice made, but without futher editing and showing the mask on a different background to reveal the bad spots, it's just a nice overview instead of a serious tutorial...

This is FANTASTIC because you putted the girl's image with a transparency background. Can you put a black bg behind her to see if the Refine Mask is so MAGICAL???

@jrbhbr I know you can still see some whites of the hair when you use Refine Mask, you could use burn tool to "darken" all the whites off.

You can also use Color Range Command trying to select the whites and then you can use Selective Color to dark a little bit the white areas. There's a lot of ways to do this. Thanks for the tip!!!
