Let's be clear, The Winner Takes It All is a fantastic ballad, but in 1897, Peter Cetera turned Agnetha into another conveyor belt ballad singer. Peter Cetera was trying to help Agnetha Falskog restart her career since her first three English solo albums were not that commercially successfully. He was probably touring and in the middle of recording One More Story at this time which is why he does not appear in the video. It would have been great to see them actually singing together!!! Also this song alludes to both of their divorces her past and his future.

Cetera is a fanatastic songwriter, but this 80's shit production is terrible....those synths should BE OUTLAWED. As well as that talentless stupid bass line and rim shot drumming...cetera needs to remake all these tunes with more rock instruments or just hire Robert Lamm and chicago to do them

this clip was recorded in Stockholm but Agnetha did break her no fly rule to go to Malibu Ca. to record her Stand Alone album with Peter Cetera and co producer Bruce Gaitish whom she dated at the time.
