She has also been in and out of mental institutions because she is smart enough to realize she's slower than most and it drives her crazy. I guess you would call her an Idiot Savant, which is someone who has a very low IQ and really doesn't get what's going on so they're very happy and the savant part means they are extremely talented. Some can't spell their names yet they can play the Piano, guitar,etc with little or no instruction.

Kim actually went to a good, well respected college in NYC (Pratt Institute) with Matt. She's just kind of goofy and smiles a lot. If there is anything "wrong" with her it's very minor.
