  • if u cut your beard people WILL try to play u automatic

  • There is no requirement in Jewish law to have a beard (according to most authorities). Lubavitch is very into beards but it isn't the mainstream Orthodox view. The only law is that when you shave you can't use a razor (electric shavers are okay).

  • @benignuman The "beard" is rather a matter of "hasidim/Kabalists" NOT Orthodoxy, and certainly not Judaism.

  • he should let it grow out again, but trim it, beard looks good, if you are able to grow a full beard you're blessed.

  • One of the best Artist ever! Seen him 3 times live! So powerful!

  • He's still ortho the beard matters less than ppl think and you don't even know bc the requirement is only to reach a certain part of the face it can even look like sideburns...i was personallu alittle disappointed only bc matisyahu represented an Orthodox Jew that was cool and had good music i think he is a really positive influence on young observant Jews...i really hope his sudden shaving of facial hair doesn't send the message that he's goes off the derech to observant jews...

  • Seems to me he is still orthodox. All he did was shave off his beard. I am orthodox and I dont have a beard and neither do most people in my circle except for rabbi's.

  • WTF did you just say!?!?

  • @Cobra0811

HaShem is a word used to refer to God in hebrew

  • HaShem's mercy extends beyond hair.

  • @ChildofYeshua777

  • So if Matisyahu isnt Chasidic ...what is he know? Oy vey! I wounder what will happen to his wife and children. His wife is Chasidic.

  • He is so skinny someone would think he just walked out the Gates of ''the camps''.

  • @keepthefaith1 Thinking the same thing...... But I would like to be so thin.

  • He looked better with a beard

  • Maybe he'll find a better shule...lol. Not into symbols? Words and speach are symbols, music is symbols, sounds are symbols. Or you wouldn't know a flute from a drum or when an alarm goes off. Where there is matter, there are symbols.

  • It's like people wondering why all these rules on Shabbot? It's because people aren't up to honestly promoting the most moral, intelllegent, and aware people for the world or for G-d to take to Heaven. So, Shabbot does it for you. The things on Shabbot are actually easier for people to do than the other. People always want to promote on looks and fakes. G-d has a Covenent with us, so G-d wants to prevent us from degenerating to do G-d's work.

  • trust yourself???

  • He's so laid back it's ridiculous. I love it.

  • Matisyahu is a man who loves his family, respects everyone around him, and shares his God given talent with the world. God knows what is in his heart and that's all that matters ♪♪

  • He still is staying loyal to G-d and is still a good Jew. It dnt matter beard or not and he's more talented than ever now

  • Here comes the downward spiral. Sucks, I liked him too.

  • I think he looks better without his beard.

  • Love Matisyahu even more now! He kept it real xD

  • *facepalm* has he read about these issues at all? He sounds smart, but try and follow his logic. it doesn't work.

  • Sounds like he's thinking the same way I do, which is weird cause for some reason I felt like he was better than me.... hmmmm, I think I got issues.

  • This whole Matisyahu shaving his beard situation reminds of a time. A time when Sonny Sandoval lead singer of P.O.D. decided to cut his dreadlocks. People were over him about the issue.... Matisyahu has mainstream exposure, but uses this to bring a positive message to people listening, beard or no beard...Matisyahu cares about his fans and you can tell by the message of his music. Unlike that other garbage that is played on the radio.

  • Matisyahu is beautiful with his hair and beard cut. He was beautiful with his hair and beard long. It's a matter of Heart, not of outside appearances. <3

  • this is one intelligent dude. I harbor a huge amount of respect for this guy, and i'm an atheist.

  • Who cares about a beard? New image or not, new personal take on faith or not, I still love his stuff!

  • JUDE!!!!

  • his peyos seem too high, dont they?

  • @nutty6205 What are peyos?

  • Noush!...

You certainly don't want to be associated with a God that will be pissed at you if you shaved your beard!...

I love your music and your message, "Masiha..."

The light from without is dazzling and at times bothersome

But the light that's within is what's conquering and creating...

    Keep shining your light...

    ...!نوش

  • One Love

  • graet jewish singer! best wushes from israel!

  • He's a very eloquent speaker

  • Beautiful human being.

  • It actually a kind of inspiring story he grew the beard and wore the hat out of representation of faith but cut the beard to represent no fear of man in his faith journey. I can dig it.

  • Matisyahu is great, hair is just hair,It's the inside that matters.

  • @tamirke74 not if you're ultraorthodox;)

  • @BikeAnarchist True,Religion can be funny.

  • @purvicide One hit wonder my ass......... oh and if you don't know what "The Hat" is then you should head on back to school.

  • @Pct3ch Everything by Matisyahu except for "King without a Crown" is mediocre at best, and in regards to the yarmulke comment, you obviously can't detect sarcasm worth a damn. He should get rid of it, though.
