Sad that this looks and seems to feel like most every other current shooter. Have none of these other game companies learned a thing from VALVe? Not that VALVe gets it right all the time but, for example, MW3 looks like an expansion for MW2 and you'll be paying ~$60 for it... that's ridiculous.

Star, I don't know if you played Tango Down, but the worst thing about it was symmetrical maps that had each team spawning on either side of the map. This made spawn camping extremely popular, and the maps feel much smaller then they aught to. How is the map design in Retribution, in your opinion?

@masonmjames I remember in an interview them specifically saying fixing the spawn issues was a big deal to them, though I never played tango down. Map design feels a little bit like CoD in that its just non-symmetrical random areas, though spawning and immediately getting shot like in CoD rarely seems to happen. Only complaint on map design is that there are some severe choke points and you play every gametype on every map. Not every map is designed for those gametypes, so it can be wonky

FPS skills carry over between games. Considering that everyone playing the game is new to it, it's not surprising that someone who is good at other popular FPSs will be immediately good at a new one, relative to your average/casual/bad player.

Which one? They all had a purpose: shuriken (the starting one) could be used like a shotgun, tempest (the pickup) was good at close to mid ranges, and locust (the DLC) was accurate and good at mid to long. It all depends what you needed. That's what I mean by "right" - they had their own niche where they could shine.

How is unlocking weapons a RPG type thing? COD & Battlefield are the biggest FPS franchises and they both require leveling to unlock weapons... You don't know a lot of what you're talking about. No wonder the Devs commented.
