For those of you wondering what ever happened to Geant, she is now dominating the racing scene here in New Zealand and has been re-named Team Vodafone Sailing. I had the priviledge of doing a harbour race on her this week and it was absolutely incredible! We did 33 knots in only 18 knots of wind! This has to be the most spectacular boat ever built.
Your watching the raw power of the ocean harnessed by carbon fiber and good old fashioned seamanship. The video was pulled off the Geant web site when they were promoting this boat in ocean racing.This video was saved for posterity sake.Sit back turn up the volume and enjoy.

Noooooo ;=@ We did take a 55 cat from Fiji-NZ-Rapa-Tahiti but it was not like this....LOL. I think our max speed was 18knts and that was only for a few hours. BTW its a tri...LOL

I just bought my fourth trimaran. She is a beautiful Cross 40 cutter. Good God, how I love to go wave bustin'. I don't get the same thrill on monohulls. Dig this video and the music.
How can you NOT love mulithulls? I have owned 1 catamaran 1 trimaran and 2 mono's as much as I like sailing my Beneteau 36s5 there is NOTHING like flying 2 hulls. Great video!!!! 5 stars!!

You're right. In this film it was a crew of two but in most of transatlantic race these 60 footers are run by a single man.
Even though sailing such a beast in rough sea with a 5 men crew would be scary...
