I volunteer every Monday and Wednesday at the high school where I graduated from in the Autism class.I love being with the kids, granted its 4 boys and one of them is kinda like Jamey but they're so sweet and always put a smile on my face. I always look foward to seeing them and the teachers really appriciate my help. I was scared at first cuz I didn't really know what Autism was, but now I understand it more I couldn't be more proud to work with such gifted children and raise awareness.
My daughter is high functioning, but we experience the meltdowns. So much is done for children who are autistic, but the adults seem to be left behind like they are all the sudden supposed to be cured. Thank you for giving this the attention it needs.
I could certainly use the chew necklace for my daughter. Might save me a few chewed up shirt collars!
I hope our words - though far and distant from where you are located, will bless your heart and keep you strong. Thank you for being such a wonderful mum and caretaker to James, you beautiful human being!
Your videos inspire me! I have a 9 year old son with "high functioning autism", but his lack of emotional regulation actually makes him very low functioning. I feel so isolated at times and grow resentful of everyone and everything around me. I found your videos at a time when I really need to see someone enjoying life, enjoying their son despite of and because of his autism! Thank you!
@PMac76667 I'm soooo glad they inspire you. People, including myself, often forget the challenges of raising HF (high functioning autistics)....Be strong and know you are not alone!
i was thinking about getting a new account because this one has the name but i really wanted to ask you questions on autism and is there a chance you know anything about add/adhd and ocd i would really like to ask questions
I like Dr. Amen's book on different types of Adhd. He mentions a type that has ocd features, in which does best with serotonin, norepinephrine and/or dopamine medications along with certain natural supplements. Ocd is common in persons with autism. They get stuck on something or have rituals (ie...opening and closing door). Ocd isn't always a bad thing. Some people with ocd are super productive, they get things done. They stick to something until inished....Great musicians seem to have adhd :)
I'm just an average 23 year old girl that stumbled across your videos years ago. I'm proud to say you've educated me so much and hope the education continues on through all that you do.
@streamofawareness He is a super person. I am so proud of him. Like so many autistic people, he has hidden potentials and I know he has a sweet heart from the way he has always interacted with his niece and nephew.
@yolandaporty se enoja si lo quita...se puede golpear sus piernas. Pero, a veces no le importa si esta interesado en otra cosa, por ejemplo, pinturas o cosas brillantes..

We have to enforce the ABLITY in disABILITY. :) I myself am in a wheelchair.

Good for Robert M Hensel. I totally agree with what he's saying. People see autism and think "disability" or "disease" to be cured. I disagree.
