no, should be 1200, wool garments should have a fast spin, so the softener is completly removed, hotpoints and all other brands don't spin fast enough and eventually there wool garments will wear and tear, wheras the softner completly removed in 1200/1300 the garment last much longer-ask mieler000 if you don't be elieve me, but it is true.
1200 rpm :O:O:O should be 800rpm or 600 rpm/ 650 rpm

no cuz it wears it at 1200 wool is very delicate need 800 or less
