At 0:25 it looks like the same road where Princess Grace died in 1982. I think this is the picnic scene. Some people have said she did not die on the same road where she drove in the movie but it looks like it. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this.
To me, this is one of Hitchcock's forgotten thrillers. It is such a great film. It is thrilling, Grant and Kelly have unbelievable chemistry, and Grace Kelly exemplifies how beautiful she is. Why the 1001 movies list did not include this will remain a mystery to me.
grace kelly. part of the ancient race of almost extint "beautiful" females. GL finding another one even close to her beauty. females of the past were more beautiful. hell even her hair is more beautiful than most females today.
@sareusepeus You know, the people with the WORST imagination get the directors seat. God i wish i could film, using the least amount of CGI the studio would allow me.
This is Alfred Hitcock's most underrated movie

the kiss at the end, gold and black, seems to be a visualisation of a metapher for mineral oil: "the black gold"; a great film!

A dopey trailer for one of Hitchcock's best films. In To Catch A Thief, you find a surprising number of things later developed in North by Northwest.
I think the earlier picture was better, although a good deal less flashy.

I think Cary's character became the inspiration for Sir Charles Lytton, the jewel thief in the original Pink Panther film.

@littlebutterflii I believe it was built in 1953-55.It was featured in a cable show because somebody thought they had it

At that time they didn't have all the special effects like they have today. The people had to work with what they had and that really wasn't much ..
