  • I heard on a video that it was made in 1900. So it's 109 years old. I also think that's the oldest train in the world. That's amazing!

  • She's 111 now, and is currently down. She's getting a new set of tubes, along with a new tender, and oil tank. Tom Shreve, and the crew hope to have her back at the end of May the soonest.

  • @pskismx she was actually built in December of 1899. She has just come out of the shop and is running pretty well. She has red pilot beams, a new tender tank, and looks pretty sharp.

  • Yes, the 2 is still running. She'll be up steamed up this weekend on stand by for Memorial Day Weekend. In all honesty, I think the 3-chime on her which is a crosby sounds so much better than the hooter.

  • Yes the #2 is still alive and well at roaring camp! Although today she has a 3 chime whistle made from patterns made of the #1's whistle(got it in 2001 when she under went a rebuild) and it sounds almost like the #1 but not as good it's a little raspy I very much preferred the "moose call" on her

  • Oh! I forgot to add #2 holds the honor of being the oldest Operational Heisler in the world and the only operational Heisler in California

  • Thank You for uploading this! It's my new favorite video of the #2 on youtube back when she still had her "moose call"! (single chime whistle)

  • Your welcome, glad you liked it. Do you know if this Heisler is still running at Roaring Camp? Does it have a different single chime whistle now?
