best archers formation is 10X10 or 10X12 wich is a square, puting your archers in thin lines grealty reduces their efectivness, also when you place them take a look at the battlefield from their poin of view, if there are obstacles in their front they will shoot up to not hit their own units, but this way they will do much less dmg as arrows will hardly hit any enemy, try an army of 16 retinue longbow and 4 armoured swordsmen, hope this helped :D

I like at 5:05 when the longbowman in the bottom left is creeping up on the bodyguard in the back. He never gets to attack though.

Pretty biased against the french aren't you... I mean anyone who has played as the french knows their strength is flanking with heaps of heavy cavalry, with a bit of infantry as support and to draw fire. Cool video but I would've preferred to see those archers get thrown into the air by a full on cavalry charge... from behind ;)

In the Medieval era england was more professional compared to france which was a bunch of arrogant nobles(Proof from 1st crusade, and the 1st 1/2 of the 100 yrs war.)

crossbows are sick but they have no stakes ;)

and less range, and take longer to reload

do you put your archers on fire at will? or do you focus fire a target? cuz when I do that the units in the targeted regiment don't seem to die as fast as they should...

guy has to go uphill to hit you and there's a big cliff for ranged units to shoot from
