  • how much did u pay for these otoplasty?

  • @MrHieddie if you are interested, call 972-312-8188 for pricing. :)

  • i am going to get an otoplasty in a month ( i live in europe) and i am gonna have to wear a head band. why don't these patients wear a bandage ??

  • @teicajambrovic the headband should be worn 24/7 for the first week. however, for the sake of the video, it does not matter if it is not worn for a few minutes. the headband is just a protection so the the ears do not get bumped. i have the patients wear it at night for 6 weeks total. that is important.

  • @samlammd oh, thank you for the response, i am a little worried though. i don't know how much will it hurt, but i am willing to take the pain for nice ''new'' ears. :)

  • How much does it cost

  • @Venom0496 email my staff info at lamfacialplastics [dot com]. i cannot publish prices here. sorry.

  • @bollyfanantic i cannot speak for someone else's work, but for my patients i have them with large bandages for one night only then headband 24/7 for a week then headband at night for 4 to 6 weeks. other doctors recommend a wrap for longer than i do.

  • im 14 i have protruding ears and would like this surgery, but im not sure the best way to go about telling my parents. i dont know how much it would cost and how to follow it up. but i am mostly worried about how they would react, ive never really spoken to anyone about it and have only started looking into it today. has anyone got any suggestions about any of the above please reply soon as you can.

By the way i live in england

  • @squirel483 i cannot give direct advice but i please that an honest discussion with your parents may be worthwhile.

  • @samlammd ok thank you :)

  • @squirel483 same here im 15 same issue :(

  • Hey doc, I kind of have up ears, but im afraid that people will find out that i have gone through otoplasty or tell my parents that i want surgery. How do i approach this matter?

  • @lies3n you have to have confidence in your choice of plastic surgery. beyond that, i cannot truly advise. i hope you find the right decision for you!

  • Hey Doc,

I was wondering if it's possible to change the actual size of the ear (mostly the outer rim). My ears don't exactly stick out, no more than anyone else, but they are larger. And, this may sound shallow, but I would really like to get it done as I have heard from a few clients (modelling) that my ears would be an issue due to not being able to have short hair and have resulted in me not being selected for a number of jobs.

    Thanks.

  • @jaries12 that is truly not easy to do. i have done it for cancer operations but i would not take that risk to leave visible incisions behind on a purely cosmetic patient, especially if your standard is for modeling.

  • Hey Dr, I have a question..

I just got my otoplasty done 5 days ago and my right ear looks great, still a little swollen but my left ear the "anti helix" is alot more swollen and noticeably thicker then the right! Do you think this will eventually go back down?? Please get back to me & thank you.

  • @AnthonyLopez3 swelling is variable and one side can look worse than another during the healing process. however, you really need to ask that question to your surgeon. it is inappropriate for me to comment on your particular situation since i did not operate on you. best wishes on your recovery.

  • @AnthonyLopez3 Hey AnthonyLopez3... I know you posted this quite a few months ago now, but I just had my otoplasty done 9 days ago and am in the same situation you were in.. except it's my right ear that is a lot more swollen with a thicker anti helix and the left!! I'm pretty worried about it and was wondering how things went for you? Did you ear end up settling down and how long did it take to do so? Thanks heaps.

  • @ionfreak93 but you be lookin fly after [:

  • i have huge popping out ears, i hope i could have this otoplasty, anyone knows how much does it cost?

  • @bluecherrysweet contact my office 888-866-3388 or email info at lamfacialplastics [dot com]

  • @hanizaytoun sometimes there can be a slight relaxation further for the first year.

  • my friend had this done and he had to wear two big plastic domes over his ears and the person in this video apparently doesnt. Are the domes really not necessary?

  • @kb24crazylaker for me i don't need that. i do one of these every couple of weeks so i get very little swelling typically.

  • so after a coupla of days after the otoplasty, what exactly kind of headband do you wear? like one of those athletic sweat bands that you usually put for the forehead or what? thanks much. and how does sleeping for the next week go?

  • @DeNeTiX typically a normal headband that covers the top 2/3 of the ear without undue pressure on the ear is preferred. however, if you are a patient of another physician, you must ask him or her. a sweatband is typically fine. sleeping after the first night is typically not very uncomfortable. the first night is sore though.

  • @samlammd Thanks much for the info. I am 17 by the way. do you think I will be put to sleep as well? And you also have to sleep upright without sleeping on the sides of the ear to let it heal if im correct for the first couple of days? And will i be able to bend my ear back and forth like a normal ear months after the surgery is done? Thanks :)

  • @DeNeTiX in my surgery center i can only sedate someone that is at least 18 years of age o/w i have to go to the hospital. i prefer sleeping upright for the first couple of days if possible. i prefer not to have you bend the ears back and forth for the first year but you should still have decent freedom of movement. just don't do it as it is healing.

  • you look great! im 13 and i really want this surgery and i will probably get it, but im really afraid of surgery and that kind of stuff because i've never been in like the hospital or did anything medical (except at birth) but im really afraid of it....so you didn't feel anything? and you stayed asleep the whole surgery? i'm just really scared about those things but i hope it will be fine! :)

  • @44Ashley4444 if you are 13, most likely you will be asleep during the procedure and not feel anything. :)

  • Thanks

  • Is this procedure different to others, where they seem to really wrap up the head afterwards for a week?

  • @bcosv1 i do not find the need to wrap someone for a week, just one night. that is not to say that what other doctors is doing is wrong. i just find with my gentle technique that one night of wrapping is typically sufficient. less than 10% of the time i rewrap (but very gently) for an additional night. can't remember ever needing to wrap for an entire week (except of course just the light athletic head band.)

  • i want to do an otooplasty , but i've heard that after surgery, ears can be thrown back and some people who have such problems , have to glue them again. so my question is what the percentage of poeple that ears after an otoplasty can be thrown back , return to original position (loosening of sutures)

  • @westgirlkz generally speaking some relaxation can occur but most people do not have much relaxation over time in experienced surgical hands.

  • How old do you have to be to do otoplasty without parent approval? I'm 18

  • @sentimoko

you are of legal age to do it. i would however speak with your parents about it just so they are ok with things.

    best,

  • U look beautifful :)

  • I am currently saving up for this operation. Unlike most people, i only have the problem with one of my ears. What i mean is that one is flat and normal, whereas the other one almost goes at a 45& angle and is not properly formed inside. I have had to live with this for 19 years and i can't bear the thought of having to wear my hair my hair covering my ears for the rest of my life. Does anyone know if the cost will be less because i only want it on one side? Thanks.

  • i do charge less for one side but it is impossible to make the two sides perfectly symmetrical. just expect a nice improvement but not perfection.

  • I want to get this but i dont want anyone from school to know about it soo can i get the bandages off soon or what should i do?.. and its a lot of money so can i pay like 500$ a month or something if i do?

  • the best is to do it during the summer time. we offer care credit and they can arrange your monthly payments.

    best,

  • Hi, does this surgery have bad pain.

And how much will it cost if i want to get both of my ears pinned back.

    Please reply.

  • it can be sore the first night but not painful. thereafter very little discomfort. costwise you have to email my staff at info at lamfacialplastics [dot com}

  • i had my ears done when i was about 9 years old, i had a major comlex! 12 years ago i had my surgery i had to wear a bandage around my head for 6 weeks lol! lookin back i dont now if i wanted it done or my mum lol

  • Hi Doc, loved the film. where are you located?

  • dallas, texas. thanks! you can call 888-866-3388 or visit lamfacialplastics [dot com] for more info. take care.

  • Do the sutures used to hold the cartilage in place stay there always?

  • yes.

  • Comment removed

  • not easy but it is doable and i have done it. i can use a skin graft from the other ear to try to release it. i can't promise you it will move exactly but i have done it before and it has worked. i don't know your situation though.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm sorry, but that is something i should not comment on. i can't comment on another surgeon's expertise, pricing, or outcomes. sorry.

  • how much does this cost???

  • I seriously want this done to my ears.

Does anyone know how much this would cost to get it done in Scotland?

  • this doesnt seem real to me. REASON- im 48 hours post Otoplasty surgery and my ears are very swolen and I am wearing head bandages to compress the ears to keep the surgery healing in tact. Read anywhere on the net : the patient wears a head bandage for 5 to 7 days.. this doesnt seem real to me as im sitting here right now 2 days out of my otoplasty op... hhmmm

  • yes, i know it is hard to believe but it is the truth. that is why i film them because my swelling and recovery is a fraction experienced elsewhere. i have another one coming up that will be a true diary, i.e., a guy who came in to see me from out of town filmed himself every day for a week. he is sending me the footage hopefully very soon. that is why i have people fly in from all over the place for my otoplasty.

  • i really want to get this done but im afraid of the results for some reason im real negative about it .. and scared that after i might loose my balance and fall due the surgery thats the last thing i want after just having knee surgery and if i get this done it means that i have to look forward to having 6 operations 2 go because i have 5 more to go with my knee.

does any1 no how much it cost in australia

  • read the book the secret by rhonda byrnes. you do not want a self-fulfilling prophecy. negativity will breed negativity. best wishes, sml

  • how much does this cost

  • this is my 4th day of otoplasty and i cant se the results yet i mean shes her first day and her ears look totaly normal and im realy worring that maybe something wrong with my ear ?? ( my surgeon said u can see the result after a week so im confused here..

  • every surgeon is different. swelling is variable. i tend to get extremely little swelling in most cases because this is my specialty.

  • my surgery were yesterday and i got headband right now and today the doctor gonna remove it ....cant wait to see my ear lol

  • i had to wear a head band for a week. i get to take it off tomorrow! her right ear looks alot better!

  • Had the procedure the day before and she wears no bandages? Wow!

  • whered u get it done

  • how much is it in canada?

  • Can someone tell me how much does itcost to do a ostoplasty specially in australia????

  • Yeah i got otoplasty about 3 months ago. The surgery wasn't to bad and stuff, but the worst part was having the wrapping around my head for a weak.. and it was soo itchy!

  • hi i just had otoplasty and what i was thinking before i was gnna have it done was that everything was going to turn out perfect after the operation, but i actualy reacted badly to the general anaesthetic and was feeling sick constantly after having it done and when they took the wrapping off me my ears look very very swollen and 1 ear lobe was bigger than the other, but that ear was alot more swollen.

  • im not afraid of the pain. im afraid people to notice my ear changed

  • same

  • One of the best choices of my life. I am totally satisfied with the results of the surgery. Only down side is have the bandage covering my head for 2 days with the constant itch. Recovery is the worst part.

  • how much is it in canada?

  • i want to soo bad. i never wear my hair up. but my mom thinks its retarded that i feel that way.... anyways im missing the fold a the top and the other one the cartilage sticks out to far.

  • how much did it cost?

  • did u had a middle ear surgery or the whole ear ??<>

  • hey

i had mine done in january

    it went great lol

i wud recommend it to anybody who wants it done

its really not that bad !!

  • how much was the procedure total?
