The American Repertory Theatre (user=amreptheatre on YouTube, but they haven't posted anything recently) is doing Julius Caesar in February. I've been alluding to it in my blog, too. I thought it was somehow infecting the atmosphere in New England, but apparently it has spread westward as well.
"The Amontillado!" I said. | "He! he! he!--he! he! he!--yes, the Amontillado. But is it not getting late? Will not they be awaiting us at the palazzo, the Lady Fortunato and the rest? Let us be gone." |"Yes," I said, "let us be gone."| " For the love of God, Montresor!" | "Yes," I said, "for the love of God!"
But now there came from out the niche a low laugh that erected the hairs upon my head. It was succeeded by a sad voice, which I had difficulty in recognizing as that of the noble Fortunato. The voice said-- | "Ha! ha! ha!--he! he! he!--a very good joke indeed--an excellent jest. We shall have many a rich laugh about it at the palazzo--he! he! he!--over our wine--he! he! he!"
It was now midnight, and my task was drawing to a close. I had completed the eighth, the ninth, and the tenth tier. I had finished a portion of the last and the eleventh; there remained but a single stone to be fitted and plastered in. I struggled with its weight; I placed it partially in its destined position.
Hehehe! I like that you picked that up. Although, I wouldn't consider a coincidental parallel to a similarly-themed literary work to be anything out of the ordinary. Writers often use situations the audience can identify with to play on the emotions brought up during such situations.
Renetto's ambition has never really hurt anyone. What we have here is a case of poor communication and bad assumptions. Julius Caesar is not considered a bad guy by historians btw. He did a lot of very good things compared to some of the dolts that followed much later. :)
Interesting that Shakespeare presents a fairly sympathetic view of Brutus, with even Antony calling him "the noblest Roman of them all," whereas Dante, 300 years earlier, condemns Brutus to the very bottom of the 9th circle of Hell, along with Judas.
A good analogy, however I don't think Peri really wants to bring Renetto down. I believe Peri just wants some face time so he can get complete on the issue.
Nah! Maybe you just havent found the right man. Your videos are entertaining, but I m not a poet. I can sometime get lost where you`re poems are going. They soudn good, however I cant give an opinion as I m a artist/mechanic.
Wonderful bit of analysis there. What started as just Peri venting a little is now becoming the hot battle of the day. But I'll be happy to just sit on the sidelines of this one.
Yes, hopefully it doesn't get too nasty. I have a feeling it will die a quiet death before long. Who knows though, perhaps we have an epic struggle on our hands.
Your a smart girl but i can't bare to listen to you.

Thanks for this introduction. How can I resist your engaging Shakespearean analogy? I haven't watched a Renetto vid for a while; now I must!
"Men at some time are masters of their fates: The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are YouTubers."

very cool analogy 5*
how about Macbeth and Banquo with Peri being Banquo
but 'tis strange and oftentimes...
it's too bad they're doing this whole public laundry thing.
