  • great one, i love it

but i'm quite sure there's no tenor sax (Trane)

  • Coltrane plays tenor only a little lastly.

    ...Otaku3

  • @60otaku3 no offence, but Coltrane (and his tenorsax) on Workin' (1956) acts only in In Your Own Sweet Way, Trane's Blues, Four, The Theme I and II

btw i really appreciate your uploads

  • Thank you vangobseck-san!!

But it is a fact that Coltrane was participating on this song.

I do not tell you a lie.

  • fabulous

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • q buenisima cancion!!!!

  • Play this song at my funeral please

  • Anyone know where I could find the sheet music for the trumpet ? Have had a look around the net and can't find it anywhere

  • Perfect!!!

  • the dissonances he puts into the melody are the perfect touch of salt.

  • :') wow.....

  • Breathtaking...indescribably beautiful

  • amazing....beautiful.....love miles davis so much.

  • this is perfection

  • just spectacular

  • my absolute fav!

  • timeless

IT NEVER ENTERD MY MIND"~MYのつく楽曲で特集が、宝リチャードロジャース #jazzm

  • @60otaku3 What?

  • This is why I like Jazz.

  • extraordinary arrangement and the piano is out of this world happy and sad fast and slow.....masterpiece

  • beautiful just beautiful

  • It didn't enter my mind! I love Miles and Coltrane. I was too young to ever see Trane

live, but I saw Miles twice! I have this album (John Coltrane and Miles Davis Play

    Rogers and Hart). So beautiful!

  • Such a stunning song.

  • This is by far the best song of all genres ever composed, performed and recorded. Miles Davis is the best musician ever to live.

  • Beautiful bitter sweet tune. Love it! Thank you. Miles was the best.

  • You're welcome, ManagerGuy1-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • what goddamn notes he takes at 0.34... wonderful

  • Maestro

  • Amazing, beauty... Just pure beauty. Jazz is wonderful, everything about it. Going to start buying some jazz records, I gotta for sure. Also, that piano is so nice.

  • @KlarnerUrukai you have to buy some! One of he most beautiful forms of music, which comes from the soul of oppression in America!

    Peace

  • There's a humming sound... is that Colatrane's Sax?

  • Yes, Coltrane plays the tenor sax only a little in ending of this song.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • How can we have 1 dislike? It is ludicrous. There is no such a thing as dislike here.

  • There is no accounting for tastes.

Please do not mind bad rating.

    ...Otaku3

  • Such an awesome tune, it is titled just right. The tune puts me in mind of all that is beautiful, tranquil, lovely, and romantic, Miles feels his heart with the tapestry wonderment, and never lets anything else enter his mind.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.

  • 2:47 Human emotion at it's best.

  • WOW!

  • For some reason this reminds me of my beloved Alsation, Bruno.A while after he died, I listened to this (I've got the album) and Bruno INSTANTLY came to my mind-ironic, given the title. To this day, it pains me that I can't listen to this wondrous piece of musical beauty without becoming distraught. But hey; what beauty! Paul, Bootle, Merseyside. Long live jazz.

  • Just amazing.

  • This song is so beatutiful that makes me cry every time. Thank you Miles.

  • beautiful track

  • poignant and beautiful

  • My favorite Miles Davis recording. Remarkable restraint. Does Coltrane show up on this track at all?

  • Yes, Coltrane plays the tenor sax only a little at the ending of the song.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • @60otaku3 I actually think Coltrane is playing throught the whole song but very low. For example on minute 1:59 and so on. Good job on posting. Greetings from Germany

  • Thank you for the comment, chargerpete-san!!

    I accept your opinion.

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • This is one of my favorite songs and this is the instrumental version of it that comes close to the number one version. Miles at his prettiest.

  • divine!

  • one of my favourites by Miles. I love the cover photo too, "yeah make sure you get the steamroller in !"

  • i can pass away now.

  • @perfectalt1tude Well, have you?

  • Certainly "Otaku" is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime or video games.

But please understand that the kind of "Otaku" is not only them.

Incidentally I am not such "Otaku".

  • You can almost hear the lyrics through the horn. Lovely and sad.

Acho que so faltava detonar Trane. Ouçam e sonhem. xF

  • I LOVE MILES DAVIS, DIVNO!!!!!!

    THANS, OTAKU-SAN

    You friend

    Maga :))

    *****

  • You're welcome, Maga-san!!

    Otaku (*^o^)/

  • love the tune but always wondered why coltrane is not on this take...

  • I think that it is because Miles wanted to record this tune as the quartet.

And the first version of this tune (Blue Note Records in 1954) also was the quartet plays.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • You can hear Trane actually play one note, at the end of tune- 5:13 . So I think he's on this track, technically. haha

  • Surely Coltrane plays only a little lastly...

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • I like the 1954 version better, the one with Horace Silver on piano. Nearly makes me cry

  • I also like the Blue Note version that Horace Silver participated in 1954.

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • My dream group: Red Garland: Piano Paul Chambers: Bass Joe Morello: Drums Miles: Trumpet Gerry Mulligan: Bari Sax Stan Getz: Tenor Sax Paul Desmond: Alto Sax John Coltrane: Soprano Sax Eric Dolphy Flute Jay Jay Johnson Trombone and Bobby Hutcherson on Vibes... This single quintet has three of my all stars!!!
  • Thanks calico992-san!!

I think that your dream is the group by the jazz players very wonderful.

    Otaku3 (^_^)/

  • you should listen to the version of the ballads and blues record.

    Its a lot better.

  • "The version of the ballads and blues"?

What is the name of that album??

    ...Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • Incredible tune. This album it's my favorite Miles Davis effort for Prestige. Thanks my friend.

  • You're welcome, rogerjazzfan-san!!
