Amazing, beauty... Just pure beauty. Jazz is wonderful, everything about it. Going to start buying some jazz records, I gotta for sure. Also, that piano is so nice.
Such an awesome tune, it is titled just right. The tune puts me in mind of all that is beautiful, tranquil, lovely, and romantic, Miles feels his heart with the tapestry wonderment, and never lets anything else enter his mind.
For some reason this reminds me of my beloved Alsation, Bruno.A while after he died, I listened to this (I've got the album) and Bruno INSTANTLY came to my mind-ironic, given the title. To this day, it pains me that I can't listen to this wondrous piece of musical beauty without becoming distraught. But hey; what beauty! Paul, Bootle, Merseyside. Long live jazz.
@60otaku3 I actually think Coltrane is playing throught the whole song but very low. For example on minute 1:59 and so on. Good job on posting. Greetings from Germany
Acho que so faltava detonar Trane. Ouçam e sonhem. xF
My dream group: Red Garland: Piano Paul Chambers: Bass Joe Morello: Drums Miles: Trumpet Gerry Mulligan: Bari Sax Stan Getz: Tenor Sax Paul Desmond: Alto Sax John Coltrane: Soprano Sax Eric Dolphy Flute Jay Jay Johnson Trombone and Bobby Hutcherson on Vibes... This single quintet has three of my all stars!!!
great one, i love it
but i'm quite sure there's no tenor sax (Trane)

Coltrane plays tenor only a little lastly.

@60otaku3 no offence, but Coltrane (and his tenorsax) on Workin' (1956) acts only in In Your Own Sweet Way, Trane's Blues, Four, The Theme I and II
btw i really appreciate your uploads

Thank you vangobseck-san!!
But it is a fact that Coltrane was participating on this song.
I do not tell you a lie.

live, but I saw Miles twice! I have this album (John Coltrane and Miles Davis Play
Rogers and Hart). So beautiful!

Certainly "Otaku" is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime or video games.
But please understand that the kind of "Otaku" is not only them.
Incidentally I am not such "Otaku".

love the tune but always wondered why coltrane is not on this take...
dodecopus 2 years ago
I think that it is because Miles wanted to record this tune as the quartet.
And the first version of this tune (Blue Note Records in 1954) also was the quartet plays.
Otaku3 (^_^)b

You can hear Trane actually play one note, at the end of tune- 5:13 . So I think he's on this track, technically. haha
