  • really really awesome..... four hands doing different things.....next thing ... fly a helicopter ?

  • Super played and super sound!

  • Man.... will you *stop* being so epic? Make at least a small mistake somewhere. Please. I *must* have something to nag about :(

This is just too good to be true. (And there I go again, crawling toward the organ to practice more and hope to ever reach 25% of this sort of playing....)

  • Hi David,

That is realy awsome play verry verry nice

cant get enough of the sound

    Regards Rico

  • 5 stars to you!!!!! Great!!!!!!!!

  • Best version I've heard in a long...long time!

    Thanks for a splendid performance.

  • Yes, this should be THE definitive arrangement AND tempo! Thank God for You Tube so we can continue to hear and see David play so beautifully.

I often wonder what Ethel Smith would do if this wonderful instrument had been available to her?

  • @Rollinglenn She'd probably freak out at all the buttons and the screen, thinking that it'd be a space ship from the 2450's....

  • Hallo David, das ist mit Abstand die beste Version von Tico Tico, die ich jemals auf einer Orgel gehört habe. Wunderbar orchestriert, perfekt gespielt! Ich kann's mir immer wieder anhören.

    Gruß,

    Marcus

  • A fantastic arrangement of my favourite Latin tune. Thankyou.

  • Fantastic! Yup..best TIco on the tube!

  • awesome, beautiful!!!!

  • To say that this video was awesome would be a great insult to you. Perfection is possible after all. I must agree that this is the best version of this song I have ever heard.

  • This is by far the best version of this song on YouTube. Have to agree with the others, the relaxed tempo really makes a difference and lets your creative arrangement show. Great!

  • Wonderful David,

like to hear the song in a new arrangement, and not always sooooo quick!

    Best wishes, William.

  • @MusicBlinded51

William, I am SO glad to hear someone like you say nice things about both the arrangement AND the tempo! I always thought this song was played too fast (very often for the player to "show off") -- and I also wanted to use sounds "other" than organ. Thanks for listening!

  • Fabulous rendition ! Great playing & orchestration. Cheers. MrC

  • Interesting at a much slower version, but sounds great! Have you ever use the orchestrated background styles? I used them on my Wersi Pegasus all the time as it has helped me write sings.

  • GROßARTIG !!!! Klasse Sound.

  • Fantastic, very great original arrangement !! A really precious execution of "Tico Tico" :))) Bravo David !!

  • @mikefox1974

Grazie, grazie, grazie, il mio buon amico. Si ha sempre belle cose da dire!

  • Shades of Ethel Smith! Thanks for this really great cover of her old standby!

Was wondering if you are going to post your favorite Christmas song this year?

    Sure do hope so!

  • Geile Sache! Auf jeden Fall mal etwas anderes, was ich so in diesem Stil noch nie gehört habe. Beide Daumen hoch! Grüße aus Nürnberg - Timo ,-)

  • Magnificent and original the new version

    Bravo

  • David. Once again great performance, but I am still awaiting those two songs that you were working on from La Cage Aux Folles.

  • Me encanta tu version del tico tico,es muy agradable y novedosa.

    Gracias y un saludo

  • its now on my mp3 player so i can take it with me where ever i go thanks

  • You promised me Tico Tico and i'll be damned , you did it.

Its a whole other impression off the wunderlich tico , but its very nice.

Its looks like the first and orginal tico , and if i remember well , its brazilian.

I myself , are now testing it on a foxtrot version with steirisch accordions., Another other version off tico , lol.

Keep up the good work , and many greets from the netherlands.

    Very good and keep going.

  • One word .......EXCELLANT!

  • Great performance.

  • Super

  • wow...amazing version. The Tico is a wild little bird who's looking to steal some cornmeal. The words of this song tell that story.

Check Wiki for Tico-Tico no Fubá to read the history of this song.

  • Wow, I just had an eye opening moment. I was looking at your channel only to discover that you are 'the' Dunlap of 'Dunlap and Pennington'! I have seen a couple of clips from your show - great fun. I also ordered your CD so that I can listen to your great tunes in the car going to/from work!

  • Bravo mein Freund :) :)

    Liebe Grüsse

    Stéphane

  • @YAMATI40

Danke, mein Freund! Du weißt, ich denke, höre ich einen Dream Klarinette hier! : -)))

  • Very nice David

    Thanks

Chuck really did a job on you, great work of him, you should start selling CD's .

Have a nice weekend, both of you.

    Jim

  • Well done David. That is a refreshing version of the song that seems to be the staple for professional organists that like to play it a light wave speed. I like the little extras that you put into it.

  • @countryguy

Thank you so much, Gary! I feel the same way about this song -- so many organists play it as though it were a speed contest, and I never wanted to upload it until I could work out a more musical arrangement. I appreciate your insight.

    David

P.S. When were you going to tell us about your Lowrey upload on your OTHER channel? hehe

  • @dunlapds2

LOL, you weren't supposed to find that. After your performances, I feel embarrassed to post that video!

  • @countryguy

Don't be silly! It's a great song! Besides, we all bring something different here, and we all learn from everyone else!

  • @dunlapds2

    Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement.

  • Great orchestral arrangement! Very good work once again.

  • @Thedaanvo

Thanks, Daan! I try to keep up with you, but I think that I am losing the battle -- your uploads are always so great!

  • @dunlapds2 Thank you for the compliments! Well, your uploads are live played.... I mostly rely on multi-tracking due to some of the organ's system issues, still I'm planning to upload some live songs as well.

  • Tico Tico first gained worldwide recognition when paired with Aquarela do Brasil, a 1942 Disney short introducing the green parrot character named Jose Carioca. Both songs became worldwide standard after that - another side of the Disney magic! Does the cuika foot button at 0:49 come as standard issue or is it an optional upgrade? I am in awe each time I hear you David! Maybe you could adapt my current feature- Lovely Hula Hands? Watcha think of the nifty link to your 2+ hr playlist here? chuck

  • @chkjns On future uploads,I think I should probably consult with you, the resident YouTube authority, on the background stories of my songs! You're pretty amazing ...

Not sure how to answer your "foot button" question; the sound effect is standard in the instrument; the foot buttons (called pistons) are optional.

With regard to your "nifty link" -- all I can say is, "WOW! Did I really do all that?!?"
