  • So cool

  • dang, fishing accident?

  • 6:30 and considering you for lunch. XD

  • You are Lucky Breakfast was over.

  • Got to see some orca's, eh? ;D

  • Oh really. Why are they named j pod? Isn't that from the free willy movies? Lol

I would love to live in Bc where you can see such amazing animals all the time. I live in boring Ontario lol

  • Who is ruffles? Or was

  • @992kirky Ruffles was a large male Orca from J-Pod, one of the three resident Orca Pods that spend a lot of time around Southern Vancouver Island. He was uniquely identifiable from his wavy, large dorsal fin, hence the nickname "Ruffles". Sadly, he hasn't been seen for some time, presumably deceased.

  • This would be so cool to be able to see. I would so do this but at the sane rime I'd be shiting my pants...

  • Absolutely amazing. My husband and daughter kayak these waters all the time and have had many amazing experiences but never anything like this. This was exceptional...a little terrifying but exceptional all the same. Great video, thanks so much for sharing, WOW!!

  • Great video.

  • What's with the earing? He's not a pirate.

  • RIP Ruffles!

  • aw the two were playing with each others and decided to play with you guys as well.

dont know why people are so scared of killer whales. their name is false

  • thats not kayaking :\

  • wow i wish i could be there i want 2 see killer whale kinda close 2 me=)

  • they wont them unless they hurt the killer whales first and plus they don't eat humans

  • 02.15 - get the Advert in before you're killed. What a pro.

  • wtf you could die you idiots

  • @ImEyderex You have much to learn buddy. You just made yourself look like the idiot here. Live a little, too. Jesus.

  • @ImEyderex wtf you could die next time you go out and drive idiot.

in fact, you're much, MUCH more likely to die in a car accident than by a killer whale "attack"

    go educate yourself, cretin.

  • @ImEyderex They are only nick named killer whales because they are known to eat mammals... there have been a few rare cases involving accidents with humans being "man handled" by the whale whilst it investigates what the humans were but a human has never been ate by one. I much prefer their proper name "Orca". They actually are not whales... but a specie of dolphin.

  • I'm getting scared just watching this.

  • 5:20 to save you time.

  • @TinnInches Thanks

  • how did you not shit your self's?

  • No thanks! Too close for my comfort, I once freaked out, because of a very large trout near my leg, water was about hip to waist high....6:09 WAAAY too close for comfort! That's really fuggin close, like he came up to the surface to take a look see, & his dorcel fin just about breaches your kayak/peddle boat!

  • @Sydneyboi4fun

You are full of shit. Pure stupidy. That's like saying fishermen can't advertise the rods they use to show how it really works because they are invading fish territory. Take your save the worlld bullshit somewhere else you unicorn buttfucker.

  • 5:21 You know when youre screwed

  • @DiscoverSooke ... how DUMB was that??? How cheap that u advertise your stupid westcoast outdoor adventure rentals like this? U literally went there INTENTIONALLY and invaded THEIR territory. Ofcourse they would come to check what u r but how invasive u were? That was sooo DUMB! your COMMERCIAL mentiality to advertise your stupid rental company gives u NO RIGHT to inaved orca's life. IDIOTS!!!

  • @:29 seconds, what the crack is in the bottom right corner????

  • The bottoms of those Kobies look like seal bellies.

  • @iviewthetube lol

  • Amazing video! Orcas are truly beautiful :)

  • That is an incredable video! Thank you for sharing!

Given what apex predators the Orcas are, I am still amazed that we aren't on their menu. I honestly don't understand why they don't attack humans.

  • @RavenRyy probably because they are really smart animals and probably figured that if i eat one of those, they will come looking for me and kill me... not worth it

  • WOOOWW!!!! Amazing!!

  • this is how orcas should be enjoyed. in the wild. thanks you for sharing this.

  • @kikiiimarieexx agreed no animal should be trapped in a tank!

  • 6:12 How much poop can your kayak hold?

  • When he said " Holy Christ at 6:9 ( voice rising about one octaves between "Holy" and " "Chr"- then another octave for "-ist" , he was not swearing, he was praying!

Don't blame him, they are truly awesome creatures- they make one in awe of their power.

"They're just checking us out, Dude!"

    Yes, for dinner, fool!

Great clip, wonderful experience. I was on a Scottish sea loch (Loch Long) two nights ago with a Chinese lady and we heard whale-song about 70 yards away, and the tail splashing.

  • omg i would be freaking out and going back to the shore :P

  • thanks for sharing.... eh :)

  • What an amazing experience.

5:20, things just got more amazing from there, and the bull does indeed look like Ruffles.

What I'd give to be in the middle of that.

  • check out super pod on my channel

  • u should swim with them ,,,

  • Those 31 people that dislike this vidio are absolute CRITICS!!!

  • Good news for you... UNTIL YOU'RE KILLED BY A FUCKING WHALE

  • Yes, they are all around you....and they are thinking....."Does yellow taste good?".

  • @SoCalDualSport You mean urine?

  • Mate it looks like you were smack bang in the middle of a massive pod. There were calves, juveniles and some REALLY big males. What a privilege to have been there - I'm very jealous!

  • OMG That looks AWESOME. weren't you bricking it, I would have been, they were so bloody close. They're killers don't you know :) Awesome!! thanks for putting that up.

  • They're coming outta the walls! They're coming outta the goddamn walls!

  • I got signals. I got readings, in front and behind. They're all around us, man. Jesus!

  • Nice

  • Absolutely magnificent! I'd be scared shitless eventhough they never atacked a human in the wild if I'm correct. Fantastic creatures, what an experience that must of been

  • That was one VERY BIG orca

  • hahahaha when the whale watching boat zoomed by I LOLed. lived in Vancouver my whole life, been to Tofino, boating trips out on vancouver island several times, and never seen wild orcas. Something on the top of my list

  • very cool. thanks for sharing! wish I were brave enough to try it out. looks like you had a blast!

  • CRAZY AWESOME DUDE!!!!!!

  • GRAPES?

  • so suicidal... so stupid... so lucky...

  • i'm glad we're not in their diet! phew! Good on ya mate! you're living life! =D

  • I'm going to figure out a way to do this! I don't care how. ^_^

  • I AM PUTTING THIS ON MY BUCKET LIST!!!!

  • Some people are fearless. . .i used to have nightmares of that exact thing and hes doing it in real life...COMPLETELY fearless..awesome! video tho

  • There's a part of me that would absolutely love to do this. But then the other part of me that doesn't is from watching the video "Killer whale smashes kayak" or something like that. But I don't think that would deter me lol.

  • And THAT'S something you never get to do at SeaWorld, lol. Would you say that this could've turned dangerous? I'd love to do that someday, but not if I'm risking my life!

  • 30 people who viewed this badass video are animal abusing assholes.

  • These guys are wearing way too much cotton to be in a kayak safely. Hypothermia would be a factor before your reached shore if you took a swim. Good example of what not to do. And everyone knows, Hobies are ghey.

  • looks like you need a shorter bar on you eyebrow piercing. other than that great video

  • could it be dangerous? is there aney risk the orca will attack you?

I would be sooo happy if i could experience this :D

  • at 6:08 I would pass out!

  • nice vid :) made me smile

  • top video but these things scare the shit outta me haha

  • Damn nature you scary..

  • Holy crap.

  • wow!! I am so envious what an experience!

  • at 6:09 I would of been praying for my life lol

  • The shaking hand really adds tension. And thank you for keeping the camera as still as possible, you got some really great footage. What an experience!

  • where was this located?

  • That is truly astonishing what a superb treat .

    Both terrifying and exhilarating .

  • So amazing. This is how you see whales. Not at fucking Sea World.

  • Kayak comes with a handy bailer to empty kayak of urine after orca viewing

  • this happen to me when i did a trip in telegraph cove. best experiance of my life.

  • Comment removed

  • that is literally my backyard

  • You can get a tackle box instead of putting your lures on your face.

  • you are probable the luckiest people, just to be that close and see it like that i bet it was life changing :)

  • I'd be so scared but I think id love it your so lucky to have had that experience I been absolutely in love with orcas ever since I was small...nice video(:

  • fucking amazing dude

  • I live in Virginia Beach, Va. I get way excited when i have schools of several dozen porpoises around me. I can't even imagine what it must be like to experience an Orca. I have been close to a few sharks in my kayak though. Keep up the good work man, amazing video.

  • if that bull killer whale came after me i would piss and crap myself:p

  • cool!

  • i can only DREAM of doing this

  • @shortylauralyn78 Don't let a wheelchair stop you from doing this. Hobie Kayaks are super supportive and sturdy. You don't need to use the footgear as it comes with traditional paddles as well. Thanks for commenting, Laura Lyn!

  • @shortylauralyn78 : me too...

  • WOW! Guys that was amazing, scary, exciting, and gusty all wrapped into one! Prob my favorite Orca video I've seen yet. Thank God they didn't breach while under you. Amazing thanks!

  • @djajaynyc I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Thanks for commenting.

  • @DiscoverSooke This is the coolest video in youtube!! You are my hero and i am now going to take my kayak to BC and do this. What time of year is the best?

  • I wouldve shit my pants!! hahahaha

  • @AJbeezy2144 Who's to say I didn't. :)

  • @DiscoverSooke so you did shit your pants!? lol kidding. Good video i wish i can do that in the future

  • Holy crap... When they swam right under your boat then that one came right at you, I flipped. That was absolutely amazing.

  • CANADA!!! :D Nice video bro.

  • Those whales were like, "Whoa, is that a peddle kayak? Looks nice."

  • cool video, but you made it seem like you were going to be attacked by them in the title of the video. misleading and disappointing.

  • hahaha .. im giggling with excitement watching this in my nice warm dry study in london england, i cant believe you guys got so lucky, what an amazing miracle you had it those minutes , only one thing i would say ..... New Pants Please!!!!

  • Did he say holy crepes?

  • holy grapes!

  • i would never dare take my camera out in the middle of the water :-/

  • Honestly I would have LOVED to been that close and gotten to experience that. But I would have probably pissed myself because they were so darn close . Experiencing that has to be a privelage. You are one lucky man. Thank you soo much for sharing your wonderful experience with us. They are such beautiful creatures.

  • @ImaWreckingBa11 I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting. It was a very positive experience not soon to forget. Have a great weekend.

  • This is amazing!!! Ive always wanted to work with orcas or even just see one in real life....too bad i live in NC ahh well. :)

  • @KMM198904 Orca are in every sea of the world. There have been Orca spotted off NC many times before. Do a search for it. I'm not sure how you'd end up seeing them or how far out you need to go, but it's not unrealistic.

Chase your dreams. If you want it, you can achieve it. Thanks for the comment.

  • @DiscoverSooke I remember when I was at SC during the winter and we stayed right by the shore and one morning we saw three orcas heading up north.

It was the greatest thing I ever saw :)

  • wow wow wow wow you said it all yourself wow

  • i for one love Orcas they are so beautiful and so smart..these guys are so lucky and i for one wish i was in their shoes

  • You should see the grin on my face after watching this vid. I can't imagine how giddy you were actually experiencing this. :)

  • do u have a death wish?

  • Loved this vid so much. I adore Orcas, extremely jealous of your experience. But I have to admit even though logically I know they are normally gentle with humans unless provoked (I consider imprisonment and being forced to perform tricks provocation. If it would make ME snap, I can't blame the whale!) I'd still be a bit leery of going out with nothing but a tiny kayak between me and a whole pod, lol.

  • I wish he'd quit showing his face and hold the camera steady on the water

  • I want to do that Soo bad, I am soo jealous.. J live soo close to there too so many I will soon! I would love to swim with them but I doubt that would ever happen.. :(

  • you're so lucky

  • omg you're so brave I would be freaking out dudee.

    they're beautiful though!

  • The eye piercing went out of style a few years ago for you..No offense but you could be hansome w/out it.

    :)

  • you crazy canadians haha jk

  • LUV'D UR VIDEO. iVE BIN IN CLOSE PROXIMITY WITH A POD OF AWESOME ORCAS TOO IN THE SAME AREA YEARS AGO. WAS JUST 2 FRIENDS AND MYSELF, A POD OF ABOUT 20 ORCAS RANGING FROM CALVES TO MASSIVE BULLS, AND THE DEEP BLUE...AWESOME ENCOUNTER. ONLY ONE REGRET....NO CAMERA....

  • Nice kayaks i never seen paddle powerd kayaks

  • 6:09 i would shit my pants!

  • AH, so lucky! Those calves were adorable x3 Do you know if that was just one pod or possibly 2?

  • oh my gosh, i would kill to be that close to a killer whale in the wild. You, sir, are very lucky! :)

  • Wow, great video and what an experience that would be.It has always been my dream to visit BC and see live orcas.Maybe one day I will get out the UK.lol

  • This is amazing, so jealous of you guys!

  • 2:51 thats what she said

  • Came across this video in preparation for my upcoming trip to Johnstone Strait to kayak with orcas....seeing your footage made me even more excited!! First time seeing an orca in the wild ~ cannot wait!!!

  • That's amazing!! I think I would have pooped my pants @ 6:09 and 6:24

  • Wow... thank God those things are smart enough to realize... "We don't eat human."

  • @3nikenick Kyacking usually involves paddles. The hard way is with paddles haha.

  • fuck dude that kayak looks like it can sink at any time with a little wave lol.. i didnt know kayaks had paddles.. good vid

  • that would be so freaking awsome omg! i think imma go an do dat!

  • i started shitty my pants at 6:05!!!

    this sooo cool!

  • Very cool video!!

  • 'AMAZING EH?'

    -whale knocks him out-

    'FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK'

  • That's so sick, but honestly, just watching it I just about shat myself when they were swimming under.

  • dude theres a staple in ur head

  • @3nikenick lol you are wrong lol

    1. Do a search in wikipedia for kayak and you'll see they mention a "peddle kayak".

    2. I didn't name these, Hobie Kayaks did, so contact customer service if you've got a complaint

    3. They also have a paddle to use if you don't feel like using your feet, which is stored on the kayak

  • 2:01 - straight FOR you, or straight TOWARD you?

  • baby orca; what are they

mother orca; they a human(or orca name for human) they are very stupid

    BAby: lets fuck with them

MOther: dont say fuck but ok

  • @cam281993 -_________- .......wut?

  • Wow, the idea of them knocking the boat over and ending up in the water with them is a bit scary, but still, looks like fun :)

  • wow!!! AMAZING video!!!
