@usulkane well the cameraman is right at the stage so it's picking up mostly stage sound. the gtr can is real close to the camera, and so are the vocal monitors but they are facing the group...so things like keys and vox are mostly being heard out the house speakers which are not being picked up well by the camera because of its location

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I think this band kicks ass. It took me a long time to like their music. The more you listen, the more addicting it becomes. They don't put on much of a show, but their studio work is amazing.

This is a kinda weird recording of them live. I just saw them live. Its awesome(maybe better than this show its hard to tell with this recording), its like each instrument and singer is an extension of the other inside of totally separate parts. Every singer and instrumentalist is so great at what they do. Watch/listen to useful chamber (the video thats "red hued)

This band is just amazing, one of the most creative and smart I have seen in a long time. They combine the Talking Heads good taste for pop and Deerhoof wicked melodies.

Bands don't need 10 years to prove their talent, but sometimes it takes 20 years to appreciate it.

Their first album was released in 2002 this means they had to be together for at least 2 years prior to the first release. And they have released 9 full length albums! Built to Spill has released 7.

But besides the sheer numbers do you honestly believe it takes 10 years to brake even? Production costs to make music are very low compared to profit earned from touring and albums. Where are you getting these numbers from anyway? Call me ignorant but those numbers must be poor estimations
