te recomiendo un vid acerca del che, se llama el che anatomia de un mito, recuerden no siempre crean todo lo que dicen, la cosa es acumular varias fuentes y crear propia opinion, para mi el che y pancho villa eran los mas grandes, y al final me quede solo con pancho y tengo mis sospechas todavia. Hm, what about your blood thirsty president? Terrorism should be prosecuted in ALL of its forms, even if (and especially when) it comes from a supposedly legal authority.
I'm sorry, but our wars in the Middle East were a long time coming. If I recall Italy has its own terrorist problem. I am not saying that I agree with all of the president's policies. For instance I did not agree with entering Iraq although I do see it as a problem as we the American people are responsible and must stabilize. At this time forces are attempting to stabilize Iraq, but I agree that it was a mistake.
However I did believe in the war against Afghanistan who's regime sheltered the enemies of the western world. This includes Christian Italy. I also think that at least we as Americans are willing to try to clean up our mistakes and we are attempting make Iraq into a functional nation with the ability to defend itself and conduct itself as a noble nation.
The point is whether you endorse terrorist actions or not. The ideological justification is just nonsense. Bombing hospitals, schools, bridges, water supplies, shelters etc (and no, those are not miskates, as a man with basic training in strategic though you should know better) are terrorist acts, and with your tax money you are paying for those actions.
By the way, i am not Italian, I am from Colombia where we have loads of problems with so called leftists guerrillas, right wing paramilitaries (who, if you don't know, were for many years trained and supported by your goverment) and state-terorrism. As a law enforcer, you should line up with the victims... do they really care whether the bomb came from a crazy muslim fundamentalist or from a NATO airplane?
As I understand it the US trains the Columbian Armed Forces and police, because Columbia although a war torn nation is the US's greatest ally in South America. Columbia suffers from what most Latin American governments suffer from, systemic corruption. Human rights are also not as well observed in that region. However there are people in Columbia that are trying to make things better, unfortunately there seems to be just as many people there trying to make things worse.
All powerful nations in history have responded fiercely when attacked, this has been true since the time of Babylon. The United States becomes extremely warlike when we are attacked, and many foreign citizens have suffered for this. Again I believe that Afghanistan had it coming, but I did not agree with Iraq.
I do however believe that America has a responsibility to try and make Iraq as rich a nation as Japan, another of the US's "vanquished" foes. My grandfather (a WWII veteran) always had a saying, "Go to war with the US and become rich!" I see much potential in Iraq and Afghanistan and I think that they could become powerful and economically sound nations fully able to act in the world stage.
Understand, I pray for the security for Iraq, Afghanistan, and even Iran. I do not want war, but I do not make national policy. It saddens me that the US reaction to 9/11/2001 was so fierce, but what does the world expect? I have some relatives serving in Iraq right now and this is what they have told me: Insurgents hide among a civilian population because they know that hiding amongst women and children will lessen their likely hood of being counter attacked.
American soldiers deplore the killing of women and children but the extremists do not. They see it as good business, in order to scare people that would want a 1st world economy and a nation where citizens have rights and can think for themselves. The extremists see women as property and cannot bear to see them have a job, rights, or have the ability to drive or vote. Yes there are times when US soldiers are attacked and they return fire and end up killing civilians.
It is also true that when a terrorist target is found, that the bomb often cannot distinguish the one terrorist using children as a human shield. It is an unfortunate reality of war. Most of the Iraq citizens do not like the foreign insurgents but many are afraid to speak out for fear of their family's security. Other nations are interfering with the security in Iraq chief among these are Iran who have aligned themselves with the Shī'a Muslims. This is causing civilians to murder civilians.
It is a sad situation but one can do nothing but support the efforts to stabilize Iraq. Or people can continue to support death. The fact is if Iraq is not stable it is not American citizens that suffer, it is Iraq's themselves.
Why! So, because all powerful nations have systematically targeted civilians cause it is easier and cheaper than conductiong a fair war, we should keep supporting that kind of behaviour, even now 2000 years after JC?
What is a fair war? No I do not agree with the targeting of civilians but unfortunately under the Al-Qaeda style of fighting they hide among a population of civilians. If a person is shooting at you almost always have to shoot back even if the attacker is hiding among civilians. This is sad, but that it the situation facing allied nations and the gov. of Iraq.
Having to kill women and children in fighting with the terrorists is demoralizing to western troops although this. Unfortunately Al-Qaeda and many other Islamic extremist groups see nothing wrong with sacrificing or even killing fellow Muslims, and they make no distinction nor regard for civilian, non-combatant, women, or children. I believe that these men are evil, and mentally ill.
That is more or less the same justification every terrorist uses to claim their actions are just unavoidable tragedies. In real life, targeting hospitals and schools is far more convinient than fighting armed guys. And, as far as i know, the evil character is shown by the evil actions, not by the words. "You will know them by their actions", and not "you will know them by the means they find to justify their evil actions".
That is well said, however a bullet sounds the same in every language and I will tell you, if I in a war zone, and I am being shot at, I am going to obliterate the person(s) shooting at me. I am going home alive even if the enemy does not. I do not have to sacrifice my life just because a crazy idiot is using human shields and shooting at me. War is hell unfortunately and I have a family to get back to.
Most of the killing of civilians occurs through indiscriminate bombing -from either side- , not through accidental/unavoidable shooting. If you agree with me in the fact that a crazy cristhian or muslim or atheist fundamentalist who deliver a bomb killing civilians is a terrorist, you should agree in that when the same action with the same results is performed by the elected authority of your country, it is also terrorism.
I suppose you could say that two wrongs don't make a right, however, it can also be said that you have to take lives to save lives. That is why cops in most countries wear guns. It all depends on what you fight for. Some fight for Allah (or they say they do) some fight for trade rights, some fight to control the drug trade, and some fight the international drug traffickers, some fight for world recognition and influence.
Unless you are talking about Sledge Hammer -or maybe the russian cops under Mr. Putin orders- most of the cops do not bomb a building because a thug is hidden there, And they definitively wont agree to bomb an hospital killing new borns and old persons. If they do agree, i would also call them terrorists.
Those are terrible events that you speak of. I do not know the answer, if I had two extremist holding scores of people hostage in a theater and I allowed them to be killed, I would be negligent and criminally liable. But if I took action I could be held liable as well. I suppose that no matter what the cops do, they are screwed in the eyes of the public.
That is what I would want as a terrorist. Question your security, scrutinize your neighbors, become a xenophobe. That is what terrorists want. Anarchy, religious war, or some terrorists just want money and power.

American soldiers deplore the killing of women and children but the extremists do not. They see it as good business, in order to scare people that would want a 1st world economy and a nation where citizens have rights and can think for themselves. The extremists see women as property and cannot bear to see them have a job, rights, or have the ability to drive or vote. Yes there are times when US soldiers are attacked and they return fire and end up killing civilians.

It is also true that when a terrorist target is found, that the bomb often cannot distinguish the one terrorist using children as a human shield. It is an unfortunate reality of war. Most of the Iraq citizens do not like the foreign insurgents but many are afraid to speak out for fear of their family's security. Other nations are interfering with the security in Iraq chief among these are Iran who have aligned themselves with the Shī'a Muslims. This is causing civilians to murder civilians.

It is a sad situation but one can do nothing but support the efforts to stabilize Iraq. Or people can continue to support death. The fact is if Iraq is not stable it is not American citizens that suffer, it is Iraq's themselves.

Why! So, because all powerful nations have systematically targeted civilians cause it is easier and cheaper than conductiong a fair war, we should keep supporting that kind of behaviour, even now 2000 years after JC?

What is a fair war? No I do not agree with the targeting of civilians but unfortunately under the Al-Qaeda style of fighting they hide among a population of civilians. If a person is shooting at you almost always have to shoot back even if the attacker is hiding among civilians. This is sad, but that it the situation facing allied nations and the gov. of Iraq.

Having to kill women and children in fighting with the terrorists is demoralizing to western troops although this. Unfortunately Al-Qaeda and many other Islamic extremist groups see nothing wrong with sacrificing or even killing fellow Muslims, and they make no distinction nor regard for civilian, non-combatant, women, or children. I believe that these men are evil, and mentally ill.

That is more or less the same justification every terrorist uses to claim their actions are just unavoidable tragedies. In real life, targeting hospitals and schools is far more convinient than fighting armed guys. And, as far as i know, the evil character is shown by the evil actions, not by the words. "You will know them by their actions", and not "you will know them by the means they find to justify their evil actions".

That is well said, however a bullet sounds the same in every language and I will tell you, if I in a war zone, and I am being shot at, I am going to obliterate the person(s) shooting at me. I am going home alive even if the enemy does not. I do not have to sacrifice my life just because a crazy idiot is using human shields and shooting at me. War is hell unfortunately and I have a family to get back to.

Most of the killing of civilians occurs through indiscriminate bombing -from either side- , not through accidental/unavoidable shooting. If you agree with me in the fact that a crazy cristhian or muslim or atheist fundamentalist who deliver a bomb killing civilians is a terrorist, you should agree in that when the same action with the same results is performed by the elected authority of your country, it is also terrorism.

I suppose you could say that two wrongs don't make a right, however, it can also be said that you have to take lives to save lives. That is why cops in most countries wear guns. It all depends on what you fight for. Some fight for Allah (or they say they do) some fight for trade rights, some fight to control the drug trade, and some fight the international drug traffickers, some fight for world recognition and influence.

Unless you are talking about Sledge Hammer -or maybe the russian cops under Mr. Putin orders- most of the cops do not bomb a building because a thug is hidden there, And they definitively wont agree to bomb an hospital killing new borns and old persons. If they do agree, i would also call them terrorists.

Those are terrible events that you speak of. I do not know the answer, if I had two extremist holding scores of people hostage in a theater and I allowed them to be killed, I would be negligent and criminally liable. But if I took action I could be held liable as well. I suppose that no matter what the cops do, they are screwed in the eyes of the public.
