  • This form is shocking. Please consider this carefully, because it will cause more harm then good for young athletes. You can do the same form of pushups with GOOD form when actually ready in the mean time you can do much better progressions (for the athletes show at least). Just yeah poor tutorial in my opinion

Sure have fun with a heart attack at the age of 30. It's good to practice healthy eating habits at a young age, so that when you grow up you don't turn out to be a fat slob and eat whatever the fuck you want.

    He should work on proper form.

  • Technique is wrong.

    He does NOT go all the way down. He should try to bring his chest closer to the ground or even have his chin or nose come to the ground, then go up.

    His back is bending and he is using his legs to cheat. This is partially because his arms and chest are not strong enough to do the technique properly and he isn't using proper form.

    He is also young, so its understandable he has not developed his strength more, but he should learn proper form.

    The purpose of this exercise isn't to become the world's greatest "behind the back clap push up expert." It's to make the kid a more effective wrestler. Using muscle groups in his back and legsI to assist in this movement is not detrimental to his health. In fact, he is getting a more complete overall work out. In this context, speed, explosion, and high reps are the goal. Performing a few perfect repetitions, as you advocate, wouldn't do much to make him a better wrestler.

  • @crazegeckko FYI these pushups are not like a regular pushup where u keep your body straight, this focuses on building explosiveness and fast twitch fibres in the muscle which is very important in martial arts. So don't talk about their form being incorrect when u don't know the type of push up they're doing.

  • @EyeBeeWeazy The danger of falling on your face if you clap too slowly helps you to try harder, in theory. Fast arm movement is good, but should perhaps be practiced separately at first. Faceplants are good motivators if they don't scare you away, and are great entertainment!

    As far as pure power output is concerned, the claps don't matter at all.

  • It takes more skill if you keep your form while doing it...its usually exceptable to do these out of form considering the amount of strength considered to do them properly or not...but in regular pushups putting your butt up higher takes away from your arm work out and if you keep your body mostly straight and do this then you are doing real clap push ups...either way is hard

  • I know what he is doing i figured out when i tried it, hes actually shifting his weight onto his feet for a second in the air to buy him the time, to do this legit takes so much practice. 3 sets 10-15 reps? No one starting out would ever be able to do that. This excercise is very very hard when done properly, unlike the man in the video which is very unfortunate as otherwise this excercise could have become very popular..

  • lol one handed? You dont even need to go that far, just normal pushups are much harder, your biceps and chest are under constant strain with no rest. These pushups are reliant on momentum and give you ~1 second break per pushup :S
