It's great to see people speaking up for their rights and their communities. Corporate licenses were created by the people for community, not for the benefit of a few elite. Now these elite seem to believe their wealth and power comes from themselves, not from their workers, not from their community, and they owe us nothing in return for what we've given them.

If the gov't gets involved here... it will be less free like it is today. Get off the marxist band-wagon. If you disagree, tell me where the gov't has gotten involved to make a market better or flourish (even after taking a large chunk of my paycheck to fund it)!?! Be an individual... not a robot

You need to start learning the basics and history. Rights do not come from gov't, if they did, I guess in your book it was ok when the Nazi's baked the Jews OR when George Bush pushed the Iraqi war down our throat.

Your rights come from your humanity, or yes, God if you so believe. You have a right to your value and that value which you create.

Again, give me an example like I asked where gov't made it better... thanks

@barnold1000 Rights do not come from the government but the society where one resides. If there is an objective morality, no one has ever found one. The germans supported the annihilation of the jews, not just the nazis. Society agrees to a set of terms to govern mutual behavior and to allow for rules of the game. If it weren't for that, there would be no competition. A big corporation is the same as a big beaurocracy; except in that one, you have no voice, only the share holders do.

@FromBoomTown Rights do not come from society. Is it ok for society to tell a few "we will take everything you own"? We will take your life for no other reason than society deems it so? Perhaps you agree with that sentiment, so again, I hope you are never the few in that case. Your argument that the germans supported it is unfounded (most Germans were unaware of what went on in the camps) but more than that, it is frightening. Do you not see how wrong it is? If so, it defeated your own argument

@FromBoomTown By the way... there is a huge difference between corporations and gov't. One is forced and another is voluntary. you may not like it but at least you can opt out of one

Also remember that a big gov't gives corporations a tool to use to snuff out their competition. This is not free market capitalism, it is at best crony capitalism which is just as evil. Small gov't takes away a rather powerful tool.

BTW, do you not at least see how ridiculous robot is now that he has spoken more ;)

@barnold1000 Government has kept you working a 5 day a week workday; it keeps criminals from raping you. Net neutrality is a freedom issue. Because if the corporations have control of the networks, only those with money will get any voice. And before you say competition will prevail. It's those with the most money, political power, and market share that gets the voice. There won't be any competitors if you don't hear about them.

@FromBoomTown Oh my just saw this. You really must pick up another book than those they gave you in your progressive public school. YES, one of the few powers gov't has is to protect your liberty (ie criminals) please read what I already wrote in this same area.

I used to be like you, and then I learned the true evil lies in gov't not corporations (not to say they don't have some bad apples). The "ministry of love" sounds nice but it is not. Please, try to keep an open mind and dig for the truth

@FromBoomTown I think you need to read what I wrote previously. Robot didn't get it so let me try again with you. Rights, such as free speech, do NOT come from gov't. They come from natural law, your right as an individual. If you think it is up to small set of planners, ie gov't, to determine that, then let's just hope someone doesn't get into power who counters your view

Again, gov't has no right to say yes or no to my individual rights

Lastly, learn the constitution...

As a matter of fact, there are many people who owe me quite a lot, legally. However, it's quite normal for corporations to fail to honor contracts. But that's an entirely different issue.

The wealthy do owe their fair share to society. A Libertarian, hearing someone speak of this, thinks I'm looking for something for me - it doesn't occur to them that there are people who think of the greater good ahead of themselves.

@barnold1000 Ever heard of trusts and monopolies? You're denying the right of the people to demonstrate against injustice in the work place. You only allow the corporations voting power. You hate the government, but it is the only place you will have a voice because corps can and do screw workers and clients and jump ship.
