  • @runwithjill - My knee is doing better thank you for your response.

  • @runwithjill - bought a light adjustable brace and a strip. Thanks again!

  • @runwithjill - Thank you for prompt response. Are those patella thin strips

good also? seem thin and less obstructive, just noticed them in the internet. My concern with a thick brace is obstruction since my leg is a little oxygen deprived from the ankle neuropathy. I ended up in the ER the first time I had to use the crutches with the knee injury, they ran a test but said my circulation was fine the blue/cold leg when hanging unused was due to the neuropathy. Had to elevate.

    Glad for walking!

  • @EarthH2oLuma yes, the patella strips work great. YEs, the brace obstructs your leg and others :) try to strips and if they work, great!

  • Fell down R. knee popped out of socket. I stalled from surgery over 2 months. Neuropathy on same leg, previous ankle surgeries, makes leg blue/cold when using crutches. I finally agreed to surgery for this coming Friday 4/8/11, but took one last set of X rays previous Monday. The knee got back in place...thank God!

So now I want to strengthen my knees with exercises. Knee feels weak , should I use a brace to walk & exercise? or is it better to let the knee get strong on its own?

  • @EarthH2oLuma H I would recommend starting out with the brace for the first few weeks of exercises just so you have the stabilization. After a few weeks take it off and do the exercises without it, but if you ever feel any imbalance or discomfort, keep the brace on. Just use your own best judgment on how you feel as to whether or not you use the brace.
