@fredmaint1 I have heard thousands of 'fine' guitar players all around the world. They play really good covers. But there is always something missing between fine players and great players. That is the ability to emotion and soul into the music. I would not classify any of the speed guitar players, like Eddie VanHalen, as great. They are just note players.

@fredmaint1 Well, I could say I am a bit biased. I became "aware" of music when my very own radio alarm clock woke me up to "Whipping Post". I didn't realize I had the alarm set to radio.

@vivian2gin On the subject of comparing Devon's talent to he Allman standard: The four ABB guitarists are in a pantheon of their own in my book, and I think the same goes for any member of the ABB family. Duane had the chops, Dicky had the guts, Warren has the soul, and Derek, the best of the four in my opinion, has the virtuosity. Forget the Yardbirds, the Brothers is the greatest breeding ground for rock and roll legends that the world has ever known. Still, Devon is pretty damn good!
