combine stretching of the ligaments with pressure points and you'll understand why this guy's screaming like a girl. I'm 5'4" tall and 135lbs. I've used similar techniques and had 6' tall 300lb guys dancing around like fairies. powerful stuff. his nage is definitely not holding back on the uke. when practicing, one usually releases as soon as it's clear that the technique was successfully applied (and/or the uke taps out).
joder... todos los que experimentamos algo así sabemos lo que duele... pero no, no conozco a nadie que se queje como un perro con ardores de estomago como el paisano.
okay the guy with the stick obviously can't fight. unless he learned in prison. if you hold the stick in your right hand your right leg should be forward! first thing they teach you
I like how the self-defense skills are highlighted. I think such skills can be useful in life threatening situations.
All due respect, my personal understanding of Aikido is that it's a martial art based on compassion for the opponent. So, I am bit confused whether it's the Aikido or self-defense that are being demonstrated. I say this because what I see here and how I understand Aikido doesn't match so far.
An ultra trainned Muay Thai makes nothing against an Aikido Dan trained in Atemis and Kiai. That's why Muay Thai is not learn by police, SWAT or mercenaries, and Aikido IS learned by them.
However, actually I think the best martial arts are those who mix different martial arts. Traditional ones sometimes have a heavy "espiritual" charge that is useless for combat.
In that way of thinking, Aikido is becoming useless because at the dojos the use of Atemis and Kiai is rare, and they make 90% at real combats.... so...
It depends what youre looking for. Aikido is the most powerful discipline when you want to inmovilize or neutralize someone without damage
No, it is not aikido. It is a system designed to teach you how to survive attacks.
THAT is the main goal in Aizik's system, there fore that is the goal you train to reach when training in it. None of the taoist/religious/spiritual shaolin monk type stuff will help you at all when someone tries to cave your face in with a baseball bat.
@federalist29 true combat and specially street fight is more then one thinks mental and not physical and aikido does have deep mental training for understanding atacks and techniques
Men you know nothing... This Sensei is AWESOME. He uses the traditional Aikido (wich isn't very combat effective) mixed with some variations in techniques that made it lethal. Aikido, with Atemis (hits in vital areas) and Kiai (those screams) becomes extremely dangerous because makes the Uke (enemy) stay in the position you want him to be and then execute Aikido techniques for control, luxations, fractures, etc.
Screw the Aikido. If I am a cop and you come at me with a baseball bat, I will shoot you dead. That way, you won't be able to sue me for breaking your arm by using 'excessive force'
every art has its own special way ive studied a whole lot of different arts the one i stayed with is jeet kune do but aikido is not for show your just one sided and one minded a true artist is open to all and slow to speak and wait until they get the whole info of the art mma is a wrestling sport whos goign to fall to the floor in a street fight lol

never been a fan of aikido... to flowery and choreographed, But this guy's interpretation is pretty interesting. Looks more like jujutsu to me(yes i am aware of aikido's roots). I do krav maga, boxing, and kali my self (21 years of it).
Only certain styles of Aikido are flowery and choreographed.... namely Aikikai. Others are WAY more combat effective. But I do agree w/ u, some Aikido is way too flowery and this man does whoop ass
I think your comment really depends on your instructor. I study Dojin Aikikai and we learn all kinds of combat effective moves against grabs, punches and kicks. We also learns weapon take aways against the jo (staff), Bokken (wooden sword), Tanto (knife) and Pistol. Steven Seagal's style of Aikido is also a form of Aikikai and is extremely aggressive! He learned and taught out of the Tenshin Dojo in Osaka Japan. All styles of Aikido are can be traced back to Usheiba.
I like how demo and monger respond to comments that are created personally by dumbnuts. It's so funny that I couldn't resist myself laughing from a corner while reading it!! lol anyway thank you so much sensei for the tip in footwork, I'm not a fast learner to be honest but little by little Im getting used to it!! Aikido kicks ass!
When I first started training, there was no internet access and therefore the opportunity to be exposed to such a wide variety of martial arts and opinions of martial artists was limited.
I have found the internet to be such a fantstic tool that I can genuinely say that my knowledge has improved because of it.
I enjoyed your demo but would challenge the Aikido connection. This is not the Aikido I learnt.
After reading this idiot statement I would like to see some of your techniques and demonstrations in the art. I'm sure we would all love to see your fantastic techniques so we all can be mortified too. It's easy to put idiot posting on this site and not face the man that your talking about. I would love to see that Ha Ha Ha. Better yet come and see me and I'll let you be even more mortified after I show you my art as well.
Seems to me that you aren't happy about people posting opinions that you don't agree with. I'd like to point out that I'm not the one posting threatening comments. I've never felt the need to threaten someone because I was affronted by their opinion. Yes, it's easy to post a comment as the object of critism (or praise) isn't in front of you. When I see a practioner that seems capable I also post positive comments. Leave me to my opinion and I will leave you to yours. Goodbye
You must be a great expert in the field of Aikido numnuts because your statement is a bunch of bullshit. Where do you think Aikido came from? and as for the demonstrations, that's what they are. This man has taught thousands of officers and they thank him for the training that they received. Say it to the man's face asshole and I'm sure he'll show you how effective the techniques are.
I think the whole point is that the techniques contained in aikido came from Daito ryu aiki ju jitsu and that Aikido's aim is very different as it was never intended to be used as a means of enhancing your ability to be violent. Given your abusive rant and invitation to take part I violence I can't imagine that you're a practioner of aikido.
je respect trop cette discipline elle m'impression beaucoup car j'ai pratiquer l'aikido pendant 4ans je suis maintenant premiere dan et je souhaite aller plus loin
1. The nage should have more respect for uke - who is tapping for far longer than he should have to in some of these examples.
2. This is of no use to anyone in a real fight unless of course you have a fight with someone who tells you exactly what they are about to do and then telegraphs it in exaggerated style just in case you didn't get it.
coolhandluke1819, I try real hard to be nice when I post.Having said that, on one hand you say he,s being to rough and on the other hand you don't think he's being realistic enough. I would wager that you either don't train very much or you don't train at all. I hope that didn't come across harsh.
I love Aikido it looks so little effort sends a guy into pain or injury. I also enjoyed this video very much. Nice to see the same techniques applied dufferently. But could youuse an attacker with a higher threshhold for pain. This one sqeels like a pig too sharp and loud.
wow that oki is really getting his arms twisted.. i never seen a oki in that much pain.. a lot of these moves i do in my kenpo class... weird how all the techniques are similar in diff systems...
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha you said it all Demo what a bunch of jerk offs that post shit like this. Lets see them put a vid on the tube so we can bust their balls if they got any.
I have been in the arts for years and hold several belts in other arts. It's easy to for someone to make ignorant comments about other
people on the tube by hiding under a screen name but before you judge somebody know the person first and how much experience that person has before making such comments. You are more than welcome to come to our DoJo and see how we train just let me know.
Without getting into a pissing contest with you I'm the so called fat bald dude that you made a comment about. I don't know how much experience you have in the arts but, I was taught by my instructors who by the way were Japanese, taught me to expell the air trapped inside your lungs. This is my style of expelling the air and it may be hilarious to you but to others who train with me and in other DoJo's do the same thing.
What a jerked off comment this is and you must be a fat turd yourself for making a comment like that. What an asshole you are RasFors and explain internal kiai since your so experienced. This guy will ripped your head off and shit down your throat.
think my comment was erased, surprise... All I'm saying is that there's no need for you to cry out every time you make a move or need some extra power, just control your breathing, and you get the same result... I respect his style, although I'm not impressed, but there's certainly no need to get agressive, and I'm not sure he'd have the physical power to rip off my head...

i dont understand why ppl want to have a style it gets in the way and also why do ppl study just the martial arts part and not the philosophy of it? be like water R.I.P Bruce Lee THE IMMORTAL DRAGON. founder of Jeet Kundo -not a style a an ideal to guide you to honestly express yourself.
MY responce - dude you need to get out more.
DrGreenThumbs1 3 years ago
everyone has there own reasons why they want to do martial arts. some do it for sport or self defense, and like you said. do it to express yourself.

Wrong NEUGGAH! Its more like aikido. But you gotta be pretty fast though. If you're really good, you can add a lot more nasty stuff to it.

well one reason why it doesnt look "choreographed" might be the absence of hakamas.
Same techniques as traditional but faster + more atemi and more "Ki"^^ - and without traditional clothing...
kackbrocken 3 years ago 2
never been a fan of aikido... to flowery and choreographed, But this guy's interpretation is pretty interesting. Looks more like jujutsu to me(yes i am aware of aikido's roots). I do krav maga, boxing, and kali my self (21 years of it).
Nice brutal approach. keep kickin ass.
2Pitbulls8MyKilt 3 years ago
Only certain styles of Aikido are flowery and choreographed.... namely Aikikai. Others are WAY more combat effective. But I do agree w/ u, some Aikido is way too flowery and this man does whoop ass
SethXx77 3 years ago

Aikido kicks ass!
zenero123 3 years ago
When I first started training, there was no internet access and therefore the opportunity to be exposed to such a wide variety of martial arts and opinions of martial artists was limited.
I have found the internet to be such a fantstic tool that I can genuinely say that my knowledge has improved because of it.
I enjoyed your demo but would challenge the Aikido connection. This is not the Aikido I learnt.

it's educational and yet way too much fun listening to the little man scream!!!!

Pymantis 3 years ago
Seems to me that you aren't happy about people posting opinions that you don't agree with. I'd like to point out that I'm not the one posting threatening comments. I've never felt the need to threaten someone because I was affronted by their opinion. Yes, it's easy to post a comment as the object of critism (or praise) isn't in front of you. When I see a practioner that seems capable I also post positive comments. Leave me to my opinion and I will leave you to yours. Goodbye
tubofile 3 years ago
You must be a great expert in the field of Aikido numnuts because your statement is a bunch of bullshit. Where do you think Aikido came from? and as for the demonstrations, that's what they are. This man has taught thousands of officers and they thank him for the training that they received. Say it to the man's face asshole and I'm sure he'll show you how effective the techniques are.
What an asshole you are dick head.
Monger753 3 years ago 2

2. This is of no use to anyone in a real fight unless of course you have a fight with someone who tells you exactly what they are about to do and then telegraphs it in exaggerated style just in case you didn't get it.

bgcheese 3 years ago
coolhandluke1819, I try real hard to be nice when I post.Having said that, on one hand you say he,s being to rough and on the other hand you don't think he's being realistic enough.

What art do you study and how long have you been in the art? Tell us your experience so we can relate to this comment.
Monger753 3 years ago
I have been in the arts for years and hold several belts in other arts. It's easy to for someone to make ignorant comments about other
people on the tube by hiding under a screen name but before you judge somebody know the person first and how much experience that person has before making such comments. You are more than welcome to come to our DoJo and see how we train just let me know.
DTHinstructor 3 years ago
Without getting into a pissing contest with you I'm the so called fat bald dude that you made a comment about. I don't know how much experience you have in the arts but, I was taught by my instructors who by the way were Japanese, taught me to expell the air trapped inside your lungs. This is my style of expelling the air and it may be hilarious to you but to others who train with me and in other DoJo's do the same thing.
DTHinstructor 3 years ago 2
What a jerked off comment this is and you must be a fat turd yourself for making a comment like that. What an asshole you are RasFors and explain internal kiai since your so experienced. This guy will ripped your head off and shit down your throat.
Demo6669 3 years ago 2
think my comment was erased, surprise... All I'm saying is that there's no need for you to cry out every time you make a move or need some extra power, just control your breathing, and you get the same result... I respect his style, although I'm not impressed, but there's certainly no need to get agressive, and I'm not sure he'd have the physical power to rip off my head...
RasFors 3 years ago
OHHHHHHHHH your so sadly mistaken, about his physical ability and power. You must have years of experience in the arts only being 19.
Demo6669 3 years ago
Oh yea lets see some of your ability and maybe we can or cannot be impressed by your experience on the tube.
