  • Wow very impressive

  • Ha, I have to laugh at people who think she sings off key. For god's sake, she is a professional singer/musician and has garnered respect from the likes of Peter Gabriel. Yeah, right, Peter Gabriel has no musical sense. What the hell would he know about singing?

  • Much love ... thanks for being exactly what you are Mary and i feel so blessed to own this album from way back, XO

  • Just Brilliant.

  • beautious..

  • You know what?

This woman needs a band that understands what her voice requires. Sorry for being so blunt (and placing the vocalist above everyone else) but these guys sound too freegin' radio friendly for such a delicate voice. They just get in the way.

  • @LunaSeaSane The band was the house band of the show, which means they are all highly skilled studio pros - who just met her a day or two before. I've seen her with a more sensitive player (pianist Tim Ray) who knows her and the result was magical. Sadly, I don't have video of that.

  • In that case, I can understand they had quite a task in their hands. Different performers back to back, learning everything as fast as possible... I'm really not out to get them.

  • always loved her.

  • i love her!

  • I adore her! please post more!Morrissey found it good enough to place her in his VIVA HATE! album... yes album. So to the nay sayers go listen to linsey lohan or miley cyrus, when your musical ear matures you'll understand it's just not what you think it sounds like. it's much much much more! iloveyouMorrissey!

  • She's so beautiful.

  • All right k8fan my dear, I finally made a video response to this song. Hope you like it!

  • found mary tonight. she's amazing. i love her style which i recognize as bryan ferry-esque-ish.

  • Talk about the Emperor's new clothes here. Somewhere in there is a nice voice. I don't know why she wrecks it. I don't agree with others thinking she is a good singer. It's really not that hard to sing off key and act drunk.

  • That's just an incredibly stupid thing to post. And you only posted it to provoke controversy. Very disappointing.

  • I'm actually entitled to my opinion without being verbally abused by you. No one was addressing you so - you chose to take this personally . And I'm sure Mary could really care less what either of us think.

  • Perfect pitch is easy these days with Autotune. But it won't give you a performance. I put this video up here for people who appreciate her, as I do. She's not "acting drunk", any more than Joe Cocker is. She's moved by the music. You don't like it? Your loss.

  • Hmmmm, fucking stupid comment, dude. Her singing is expressive as hell, and she's not off key, she just slides in and out of the notes like someone like Billie Holiday or Rickie Lee Jones did. It's called real singing. She's sing the way the human soul aches.

  • well said

  • Höpö höpö

  • Yeah, tell that to Alanis Morrisette.

  • Hey, I would just like to nod my head to Rusty's guitar playing, he did beautiful things on MISS AMERICA. All the musicians were great on this.

  • She's so cute and amazing.

  • WOW!!

Found out about this gorgeous person today.

I have just puchased the "Miss America" CD.

Few singers have had this affect on me.

    FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Repeated listenings Relives the tension in our messed up world!

  • wow. fuckin wow.

you can't break the rules until you know how to play the game. this lady performs like she invented the game.

She has so much music and and rhythm inside her it is breathtaking to watch.

Truly a musical genius. Her sister is a comedic genius.

Would love to meet the parents!

    Thanks for posting.

  • I saw M.M.O'H. in Dublin in 2006 by complete surprise. I never thought I ever see her live. I was blown away by her! It was part of the 'I came far for beauty' experience. I have played Miss America so regularly since I discovered it in the late 80's, particulary 'A bodys in trouble'............

  • It's like she wants to stay still but can't possibly!! Left such an imprint during my teens. A treasure..

  • I remember seeing this broadcast and was like "Who the hell is this?". I was immediately taken with this unique talent. She could be huge now.

  • She played this song tonight at Howe Gelb's concert at the Barbican. Amazing.

  • 88' or 89'

  • When we bought Miss America it was on the turntable for months. We were lucky enough to see her play live and it was one of the best live concerts I've ever seen. Thanks for putting this up, a real pleasure to watch.

  • Remarkable! One of the true greats!

  • Thanks for sharing this. Sadly, we can't get enough of MMOH. She's an elusive thing.

  • Amazing.

  • es incleible la voz de esta mujer, lo delicada que es y el manejo perfecto de su voz como un arma de incleibles proporciones ...genial

  • A true genious...is a true genious.

  • This was the first I ever saw of M2O'H- how nice to watch it again after many years.
