You know this is a tease. That rousing score for the new Trek with the more satisfying clips from the original series. Sigh... if only the new movie could've measured up to the original's standards of character development and interesting story.

Hell look through all those shots and camera angles from the original low-budget TV series and they are all better than that shaky cam/lens flare mess by JJ Abrams.

There were initial doubts about whether the Next Generation would be able to take on the mantle of Star Trek, but I think their success lies in the fact that they weren't just the same characters with new actors. I don't know why they couldn't just make a new Star Trek story with new characters. Why do they have to trample over the past?

As Picard said, "That would take us in the wrong direction, our mission is to go forward."

With the failures of Nemesis and Enterprise, any hopes for a future for Star Trek were ruined.

But with a story going back to the classic era, the best era, that is where Star Trek can and will be revived. Furthermore, the final direction Star Trek was being led in before 2009 was just crappy and depressing.
