@sushlet i only heard theres 3 model. FT86/ 086a / 216a. The 216s is from Subaru with well over 300 HP price range well over 30k. 086a to belive the lowest model price range around 20k org was 18k USD. FT86 is the mid model an mid range count that runs 250 HP.

These just info i found but the model code an HP/price mite be wrong. Its ether FT86 or 086a that mite get mix up. 160HP/250HP so one of them is ether.

@350z350zify dont forget about the weight ratio. If im correct Taco is about 3600 LB while this car is 2800 LB ?? its a huge gap if u ask me. Each 100 LB gonna make u feel like u lost 4-6 HP. My moms Taco is 150 HP an im able to beat her car with a 127 HP civic. 2600 LB vs taco of 3300 LB. Just remeber ur dad 2.7 tacoma isnt 180 HP its 180 TQ with 160 HP.

Tacrion control, stabilize control etc, etc. This isnt back 10-20 years ago how top of the line only gets everything while low model gets no support. For sure theres 3 model. Toyota is also making a even lower Power Sports car with 109 HP model. Just remeber what your saying, MR-S/MR2/RX7 FC/ Supra Mark I,II an III NA/ arnt no where near 240 HP. They are sports car as well.

@350z350zify As the factor goes, with thoes extra TS/SC/ABS would ad even more weight to a car. Most Sport car now avg 3.2k+ LB. Back then Sport car avg 2.7k LB witch makes a huge diffrent in driving mainly in weather such as snow n rain. Down here i was force to buy lesser HP car due to massive corner, up/down hills, an i cant barly hit speed of 40+ with along side that many cops run the show around here. Alot of market cars are FF layout, an i miss the FR so ill plan getting this hopefully.

Have to remember when this car comes the engine will be fresh and aftermarketparts expensive. Miata weighs 2,400lbs 167hp/140is tq. Most are averaging a mid 7 second time and 15-17 sec quarters. Both cars lack balance and if the new 86 weighs more than 2,400lb well it's going to be not so great. stock terms

The high end seems to be a 200 HP. the Gap of the car isnt going to be 2.4k LB is all i know basicly its going to be a 4 seater an not a 2 seater as MX5. Tho i think the weight goes to more adding safety is my biggest guess. Tho the Celica GT is about 120 LB less from GTS from my guess the top of the line mite be well around 2.9k LB. No. This is nothing like a Supra. This is more of an AE86 update. They wouldn't put a 4 cylinder boxer engine of 160 bhp in a supra. Toyota have officially stated that they have no plans to revive the supra.

From what I have heard in the net. the FT-86 is the successor to the AE-86 which was and still is a popular underpowered Drifting car. The video says that it's taking place of the Celica and MR2, but that is unlikely considering it's a 4Cyl RWD, If this car goes in production many AE-86 drivers will be lining up to drive this lil beast

this months motortrend issue says subaru and toyota worked on this car together, it has a 2.0 litre boxer engine, its rwd, and it could very well be named as a celica. they also said that subaru will come out with one that looks similar just with a different badge, that one would be the awd one. this car is rated at 160-180hp for under $20,000, and if it sold well they would turbo it in a convertible form.
