Saw them in Tempe in Jan '96 and we listened to them lots after that. A real soundtrack to my life after that. And yesterday I really did see the Mekong while flying from Taipei to Bangkok. Thx 4 posting!
Woo Hoo! They are just so awesome and bring the biggest SMILE to my face. So in lieu of that, I thought I'd share it with my friends and that's "YOU" !!!
I have a cover of this song on my channel which I believe deserves your time and attention. Feedback would be much appreciated. Great to see that there's still tons of fans of this great band and song.
@estuben87 Hell yes they're mostly around. They are Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers with only Roger and P.H (the drummer) being part of the new band, look 'em up, you'll be glad you did.
This is SWEET! I just came across this old footage of My Favorite Refreshments song, the bass line grabs me and the brilliant lyrics that make me sing along, "...Here's to Life!!" ( lol, wonder how crazy Kody & his friends thought me & Glenn were Saturday night when we were singin along to this in the car. hahaha)

What are you people on? RCPM is still as great or better. Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy was a great album, but since then, Roger has only gotten better as a songwriter.
What an awesome band. This brings back memories of my last years of highschool. I miss those days, I'm right there with you christofra. Funny, here's to life!
Some of the band members still play together in a band called Roger Clyne (the lead singer from The Refreshments) and the Peacemakers or RCPM. Still, it's nothing like the Refreshments songs :(
They aren't the same without Brian Blush. Face it. The song writing also isn't the same quality as Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy (imo the best album by anyone ever) was.
@zombieguitar93 Hey man i heard Brian Blush is playing with a new band, Toluenes i think. there has been a song leaked w/them called her way or the high way. Always loved his sound
I love this song, and I can't help but wonder where these guys are today

This song has it all - great lyrics, killer guitar, and some great vocal harmonies to boot. One of my favourites.

Love this album. We use to play just about every song off this album in a cover band in 1999.

"Smile to the girl in the door
Another four dollar whore
But don't look her in the eyes
She'll break your heart."
Those lines always hit me. I LOVE the writing.

god! the guitar player is sooo incredible.....

Sadly, that guitarist succumbed to substance abuse. I like RCPM but it was never the same after Brian fell apart.
