NY (specifically the Mets where Shea stadium served as a quasi military base/hospital right after) vs PA... news spreads at the bottom of 9, 1-1 score... that's a bit chilling. Hearing that news was strange. I didn't really know what to do, but I just wanted to cheer. I had a lot of nervous excitement like you can hear in the crowd at 3:40-4:05.. I doubt even half of that was for what was happening in the game. Historic video imo.

I was at this game...Phillies and Mets have a long rivalry but on that night, the atmosphere of Citizens Bank Park when we all found out, it didn't matter what team you were rooting for. And coincidentally, we were all doing something so American when the news broke: watching a baseball game, and the two teams, Philadelphia, the birthplace of our Independence, and New York, where the events of 9/11 took place. I still say it was the best loss I saw of my Phillies :-)
It's funny thinking as a Canadian that the biggest manhunt we ever had was for the Albert Johnson "The Mad Trapper of Rat River" in the 1930s... American Patriotism and perseverance is so great.
I just got the chill and cried but my country music station played a song called "have you forgotten" on 4th of July just a couple of seconds ago and today is Americas birthday so :D celebrate and remember all those women and men who fought that day RIP9/11
