This is inspirational - I think we're missing the point here. This is not a technical approach to writing music but a "3rd eye" approach on how to translate words, feeling, etc. into music. She is describing how she goes about it and that it is pretty much up to your discretion on how you can about it.

It makes perfect sense to me.  she said "the words give her a feeling", so i ask, what is better, than that the progression underline the feeling in the song ? that way, things fit together, and will make a good song. if like she sang a sad song on a happy bouncy chord, that would make a contradiction. guys, wake up! its the same as a movie composer does. he take the mood in the scene, and UNDERLINE it, to enhance it.
