The only time he actually says "oro" in the dub that I recall is after Shishio dies. He says it then the character realize he hasn't said that in over a year. If one wants to get technical about staying true to the translation, "huh" or "what" is as pretty much a literal translation as you can get.

@bloodybirdbrain Well, if you're a completionist, then yes. There are a few good episodes in that last season, although no truly memorable ones (with one exception). If you're looking for a great watch though, then I would suggest looking elsewhere, even though it is Kenshin. (And I'm saying this even though it's still my favorite anime.)

In fact, the last season is just about on par with the adaptation of another one of Nobuhiro Watsuki's stories: Buso Renkin.

@nekoaitsu i'll prob end up getting it sooner or later since i am a bit of a completionist..,maybe i'll just get the fatpack tho i got the original boxsets for the first 2 seasons (Madman R4) .i havent read or watched Buso Renkin yet but i've herd the anime adaption is pretty weak.

perhaps sometime soon in the unlikely future someone will pull a "Brotherhood" series on Kenshin and finish the last arc as followed in the manga.very unlikely tho but one can hope.

not quite, but you're onto something. the term "oro" and it's definition is very arguable from person to person but in truth, "oro" doesn't even really exist in japanese vocabulary despite that it can be spelled out in kana. oro is actually more of a sound/phrase of sorts that Himura Kenshin expresses in events of confusion, surprise, panic, or misfortune. I'm actually glad that "oro" came to be because I'm pretty sure without it, things just wouldn't be the same. XD
