and the quality of the actuations and the actors and the actresses too. yes the movie doesn´t put a lot of things, but, is a long movie, and if the director put all the book, this movie could be longer...

I think Rhett was just sick of her pining away for Ashley...which I understand. He loved her for so long, and couldn't take it anymore. I do love Scarlett, and I feel bad for her, but she'll get him back. She always does. LOL.

i love this video!!! is perfect i love it love it really, i like the movie but if you want to understand "gone with the wind", you have to read the book, I know is a big book, but worth each word, is fantastic, and have a lost of things that the movies does not includes, you will love the book, and you will understant much better the movie =)

So terrific. I loved the movie as a teen but one thing that's obvious to me now - at 30 - is how young she was...and how much older and wiser Rhett was than she. Wasn't she supposed to be 16 or something when the war started? I think the point was that despite her courage, she had no idea who she was, what she wanted, who she'd become. All the courage and material wealth couldn't bring her love and happiness. Who knows that at that age?

i adore this movie and the book, the only problem i have with the movie is that at the end of the book, u get the sense that scarlett is heartbroken..but also that she will find a way to get him back...in the movie, she just seems heartbroken and doesnt give the sense of a strong woman which is in TOTAL confliction with her character...but that end scene was due to o'selsnick's view that one should overemphasize emotions

AH! Shopaholic is so right! I didn't see GWTW until it was on TV, my mom used to tell me how great it was, and she got me the book for Christmas one year. I read it, and when the movie showed up on TV, I watched it and was disappointed at the ending, but later learned to live with it..I believe she got Rhett back, she got everything else she ever wanted - well, except Ashley, but she only wanted him because he DIDN'T want her! Are you listening, girls? (And M.A.)

He does say all the right things at exactly theright times but he means nothing to her and she doesn't know why.

If you havent read the book read it cuz it ten times better than the movie and thats saying something!

I can see how u would think that, but Scarlett did what she had to do. The thing is that she thinks she's so smart and mature but she isn't. Scarlett dosen't listen to what Ashley tries to tell her, she never took the time to understand Melly, and because she was so busy with ashley she didn't even care about Rhett. But Scarlett is still a strong-willed,

determined, and buisness savy woman. I just finished the book today and i liked so much more than the movie, even though the movie is amazing.

I mean I admire her strong will and the fact that she was willing to do anything to put food on the table, and that, despite her feelings, she did support all those people who relied on her. But her selfishness and childishness was what i disliked about her. In some ways she is a woman you'd want to be but in other ways not. I wonder though how she would have changed after Rhett left her.

I love this. It's so true, at the end, I was bawling. I bawled over Bonnie Blue and then when Rhett left her, I just had enough and was sitting there all, "C'MON, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!" Such an amazing story.

By the way. Am I the only one who thinks Rhett looks a little like Bugs Bunny? Expressions, eyebrows?

I love in the book after Frank is killed and Rhett proposes to Scarlett he says that "If Frank hadn't died when he did he might have killed him himself" because he wanted Scarlett so bad and couldn't wait any longer. Great line that didn't make it into the movie. Another great line was when he was leaving her. He had explained that their marriage was like a broken plate and even if they glue it back together and pretend, it still would not be the plate before it was smashed.
